But so far, nothing she has done on film leads me to believe she can carry her own film. Either that, or she's picking the wrong roles. Now, she has proven she is terrific in smaller roles after 30 Rock (see: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). While SNL skits certainly isn't the measure of how talented a comedic actor/actress can be (see: Jenny Slate) or just not getting hired at all (see: Ben Schwartz), Tina Fey (while the head writer), wisely didn't put herself in a ton of skits, as she wasn't the most capable of the cast members to handle the role. She's incredibly likeable, though. I keep watching her films because I want her to do well. 30 Rock would probably be in my top 5-6 tv comedies When it comes to her movies, Sisters was both poorly acted and poorly written. I watched 15 minutes of WTF at my better half's request and after 20 minutes I was motivated to finish some work.
Down by the River
Big Love Season 1: 7.5/10 Chloe Sevigny is great in this older-ish HBO series (2006-2011) about a polygamous family in Utah. A little cult-ish with the lead (Bill Paxton) being raised on a compound of polygamites lead by 'the Prophet'. Paxton tries to have his family (3 wives, 9 children) live outside the compound while hiding in plainview.
The Bookie
Green Room 8/10 Fun. I guess that's my kind of mindless summer minibuster. Punk rock and a lot of blood. I think if I had a complaint with Saulnier it's sticking the landing. Both this and Blue Ruin, the ending wasn't bad per se, just underwhelming. Will definitely keep my eye on anything he does next though. Oh and crazy cast. Steady stream of "Wait - is that that guy/girl?"

Steady stream of "Wait - is that that guy/girl?" Agree 100% - although I will say that I did think the ending to Blue Ruin was bad. Not bad enough to ruin the rest, though. Spoiler in GR, I never liked any of the characters, so I didn't really care if they died, and I could only be grossed out by so many cuts, or stressed for so many guns... idk, just majorly deflates as it goes, IMO. first 45 minutes or so were quality tension, though Edited July 5, 2016 by GLASSJAW
Svengali
A crapload of late night coffee means totally unnecessary stats and lists are being created ... I've figured out that of all my favourite movies so far: 5 are from the year 1973 alone 5 are from the year 1984 5 are from the entire decade of the 90s* 5 are from the year 2003 5 are from the year 2014 * That is one stinky decade in film. Monty
Would be difficult, and unfortunately because I'm now in my 30s with a kid on the way, not worth my time to sift through my 5 favourite films by each decade. Could only list top 5-10 of my favs.

Down by the River
Re-watched some scenes from 'The Master' and man does PSH nail his role. Just the way he looks around a room is something. He would have made the perfect antagonist in a season of True Detective. Lost a good one.
250Integra
Finding Dory - 7/10 Meh. It definitely wasn't as good as the first one, but it had its good moments. It wasn't as humorous as I hoped it would be. The Good Dinosaur (watched the second half of the movie) - 8.5 / 10 I started watching part way through the movie, but that alone was pretty stellar. The ending was great with a nice feel-good moment. Eddie the Eagle - 8/10 I feel it was a tad-bit rushed, but overall a very solid and great movie based on a true story. Hugh Jackman was hilarious as always.

aGENT
The intern - 6.5/10 Pretty much what you'd expect. A sappy but enjoyable date night movie. The leads are charismatic, the story heart warming if mundane. Not sure it needed the husband twist though.
aGENT
Carol - 8.5/10 Extremely well done film. Both women are impeccable in their roles as you'd expect. Though I may be a bit biased as I can imagine Blanchett would be able to make belching and farting for two hours on screen seem elegant and exceedingly well acted. Mara, was every bit her equal albeit in her quieter, more reserved role. My one issue that I found equally interesting and irritating was that, particularly the beginning, it felt very loosely framed. Almost like it was a sequel with characters we were already expected to know. As such I felt less engaged at the beginning. Though I did find the 'window in to time/lives' style intriguing as the film got more meat on it's bones. All together a beautifully acted and written film though.
