CCF4E
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 12m Flyers have reached an agreement with Mark Streit. Details to follow. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger12m Streit and Flyers agree on 4 year contract. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie8m Streit is a 35 and over contract so even if he quits/retires, he will continue to count against PHI cap for the duration of the contract. Will Philly still be looking for another D-man or do you think they're happy with signing just Streit. EDIT Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger15m Streit is 4 years at $5.25 mil per. Confirmed. (No seagulls). .... Not the numbers I was expecting...

Apple Juice
For how much is what I'm wondering... They're at 70M right now and including Streit, guessing around 3-4m range, they'r at 73-74... with the cap being at 64m next season.. What are they doing? Xbox
4 years x 5.5M on a 35+ contract? So dumb. I like that team too. I have a bad feeling about this. The guy is durable and can put up points, but he's always a minus player.

Warhippy
So who has to go? Briere and Bryz gone at what $11 million? But still retain some of their cap...so Philly is still a few million over the cap and still need to sign or re-sign a few key areas. Wow...I thought Slats was a terrible GM
CanucksFanMike
lol $5.5 M for 4 yrs..... no way Streit is worth that much. Surprised to see Philly sign him for that much given that they are already over the cap for next year.
Apple Juice
5.5 million per year? jesus christ Philadelphia... You're doing it wrong.
Phil_314
Huh, he definitely provides the skill but unless he fits that role the Flyers still could use a #1 D-man, since their back end is full of role-playing guys but none of them can really replace the loss of Pronger. Also, I wonder how much they signed him for? He was demanding upwards of $5M last time I heard; would be funny to see another one of their long term moves backfire esp. if he retires part way through his contract. LOL $5.5M per?! Mike Vanderhoek
He is an offensive defenseman who plays a solid allround game, is in great shape. Why not sign him until he is almost 40 yrs old ? Solid piece for Philly, just hope it doesn't mess with the development of younger guys.
DeNiro
Well if Briere and Bryz getting bought out wasn't a certainty before, it is now. Which means they're definitely in the market for a goaltender. I could see them going after Miller now.
LeanBeef
I have a feeling Hartnell and one of Grossman/Meszaros aren't gonna be with them next year.
