Nuxfanabroad
Was thinking about the cap..Up to 70 mill, & then hover there for a half-decade. Figure this would be the most beneficial scenario for our amazing squad. Lots of US teams have locked their stars up with prohibitively expensive deals. Future FA's might then fall into our laps, as the other contenders will have top-heavy, hollowed-out team salary-structures. Also, the extra space should further enable us to keep our emerging stars in the fold. Some will contradict me, claiming stratospheric-cap plays to our advantage. Due to our excellent contracts, I say 70 mill's the ticket.
Watermelon
Calm down there, thats only 6 million more than it is right now. For FA's these days that can get you a Horton or Clarkson and thats only if you give them a 7 year contract to go with it.

Where's Wellwood
But the cap won't stay at any amount for a half decade. The cap will skyrocket over the next few years if projections hold. Plus we were up against the cap when it was 70M. Once our prospects make the team and eventually sign new contracts, they'll want more money. lowest common denominator
I have a few caps but non of 'em ever fit my mellon. They are always to tight and I won't wear anything but fitted caps so I haven't rocked a nux cap in years. Plain black fitted cap, with a Bure jersey, that's me. 5Fivehole0
Thanks for that contribution. Got a faded, nondescript, ol' green cap I like. The tag says 100% cotton, one size fits most.

The Lock
I'd prefer we had a cup that fit beautifully.
elvis15
The cap is tied to revenue, so if revenue goes up, the cap goes up. The only way you can freeze the cap is A. change the CBA or B. keep revenue exactly where it is.
Line Juggler
I've got a big head, it won't fit within the cap, I need more cap room!

Joel Heyman
L/XL in their flexfit only is a tad tight and that's what I wear. I wouldn't say its beautiful but it works.

avelanch
Some of my hats are flat rim most are bent. I have a relatively large cranium so some hats need the flat rim. My canuck hats can be bent because they aren't that snug on my noggin.
Dogbyte
Not really aboard. MG has not shown to take advantage of any good cap hits we have. We need to spend to the max to be competitive. If MG figures it out might not be a bad internal idea.
Nuxfanabroad
^Apologies for lack of clarity in the initial post. I didn't try to say Van should choose to hover at 70 million/salaries...I was speculating on the future-scenario for league-revenues. Feeling if it stayed at about 70 mill max/per team, this would be most beneficial to us, due to our abundance of reasonable contracts.

Bananas
I, too, thought this was going to be about a hat, which is why I avoided the thread. Then I opened it, hoping that there was something interesting to be said about the salary cap...
