canucks.brad
Update: Jeff Paterson ‏@patersonjeff1h Torts: Burrows will not play. Out for a few weeks #Canucks The Vancouver Canucks will be without forward Alexandre Burrows for a couple of weeks according to head coach John Tortorella. The coach would not get into specifics about the injury to Burrows, but it is believed to be a foot injury picked up blocking a shot in the season opening, 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. The 32-year-old forward played 18:34 for the Canucks in San Jose and finished with no points and a minus-1 rating. source: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=433477 ----- As per Team1040 was seen limping after the game resulting from blocking a shot not good considering we are only 1 game into the season update:
Quoted
Sounds like Tanev had a bad stinger as well. Shot blocking - great when it works, so very bad when it doesn't.
Smashian Kassian
Yeah I heard that aswell, hopefully he is alright. MG is going to need to get us some depth.

MJDDawg
Just heard that at practice this morning they had Kassian skating in Burr's spot on the first line. This should be considered good news on Burr as if his injury were worse, you'd think that they'd put whoever would actually skate with the twins on Saturday against the Oilers into that spot. So doesn't sound too bad for Burr.

poetica
Good point, MJDDawg. Hopefully it is just a rest day for Burr and some needed practice/gel time for Kass. Hopefully Burr will be good to do for the game tomorrow.

TOMapleLaughs
1 game played, 1 injury. Do we have 82 spare players on contract?
TOMapleLaughs
TinfoilLaughs says: Shot-blocking could've been conjured up the team here as a 'major issue' that will be used to justify an injury-plagued, piss-poor season. As if the team has never blocked shots before. (Are we idiots?)
