Brick Tamland
Pretty unbelievable result after a 3-0 lead... If there was truth to someone getting fired if we didn't beat Calgary, this will for sure solidify whatever that rumour was..
nuckin_futz
Sedins and leadership is just a rerun of Naslund from years past. They lack that intangible of rallying the team when needed. Good guys just not there. If you're Henrik and you see guys dogging it (not saying anyone is) how can you possibly call them out? A one dimensional captain is just that. MoneypuckOverlord
To be honest if the New York Islanders score 7 against you, WITHOUT Jonathan Tavares.... yea....... your pretty a non playoff team......

BenDrinkin
I think it's safe to say that we are far and away, the worst team in the league right now. We will look back eventually, and appreciate our road back to relevancy, but hopefully it doesn't take as long as Edmonton and Calgary.
Moonshinefe
So let me get this straight as to what's happened so far: 1. Our top players can't score and we get swept in the first round 2. AV, having been around for a long time, is replaced with Tortorella to add a spark to the team 3. The Canucks play well initially, but eventually start dropping like flies to injury. Skilled players on a finesse team are not used to blocking so many shots. 4. Team is totally spiraling out of control, so the GM trades away our veteran starting goaltender (?!) and expects our rookie backup with under 30 games NHL experience to be our starter (uhh...) 5. In return we get a 15 goal scoring 3rd liner and a backup with modest stats in his limited NHL experience. So, this team has been thoroughly managed into the ground. What now? nuck nit
Tell that to the Ukraine. You sound like a "No one is illegal" type. All sports are to build group/tribe settings,if you miss that you are missing a big piece of history. America just flew out their gold reserves. Same story for Libya. Nationalism sucks. singing chef
Sedins and leadership is just a rerun of Naslund from years past. They lack that intangible of rallying the team when needed. Good guys just not there. Is that an oxymoron ?
Dragonfruits
How many mistakes can one GM make in his tenure, like really? Making Luongo the captain. Offering Sundin 20 million dollars. Creating a goalie controversy. Letting key pieces of the Cup run team walk Mishandling a young star player and throwing him under the bus. Trading that young star player for minimal return. Losing both goalies for minimal return. Signing the Sedins to lucrative contracts for 4 more years. Hiring Tortorella. Alienating Kesler. Torts was a good hire and people turned on him in 2014 Alienating Kesler explain??? the trade rumors and speculation he wanted out and he was being shopped are nothing more than that speculation and rumors at the time everyone praised the Sedin signing and i mean everyone hindsight is 20/20 i can tell you every GM signs the twins to near the same contracts goalie trades for minimal returns first Schneider looks at past young goalies similar age and experience Gillis got near the same value when teams knew he had to trade a goalie and nobody knows what Horvat will turn into you can't say minimal return second Luongo whatever the reason and the common one seems to be he wanted out and only wanted to go to one team add in a awful contract getting Mattias who has looked great and Markstrom jury is still out being in Florida tough to judge what they had they give up on players quick case and point Grabner Gillis had his hands tied with 1 team and a bad contract people should be thankful Tallon didn't send us back Jovo straight up could of easily happened Gillis didn't create the controversy the media and the goalies did like it or not if Luongo plays better than Schneider the controversy doesn't happen and Schneider gets groomed into a starter later on rather than sooner the Hodgson thing yes was poorly handled there is no way around it should of gotten more and his biggest mistake as a GM Luongo being captained at the time made sense but was poorly handled by the team oh and pretty sure AV was the one handling that Sundin signed for 1 year let me repeat this 1 year not 2 years 20 million doesn't matter what he was offered it was Gillis trying to make a big splash as a first time GM and ended up turning out good if you listen to Kesler and the Sedins talking about Sundin

viking mama
You think that having a stupid letter on the front of a jersey is something that motivates players under Tortorella? Forget about leadership, nobody on the ice even wants to follow. LOL. Everywhere he's been or comes to - in this league.....Tortorella has made the players wearing the letters, targets of his abuse. What makes ya think this team would be any different?

viking mama
He's on a roll!!! If fans start staying away, and revenues drop., FA may see the light. It should be enough that a team t that 3 years ago was top of the league is now a laughing stock but my bet is it will take financial loss to wake FA up. Don't forget to add....that the Canadian $ is falling.....and FA's divorce settlement. Wow. He could always sell 'em off? Wonder which one of Jeremy Jacob's friends would be next in line for this op. Barry_Wilkins
Next game against Winnipeg: Canucks lead 60-0 heading into the final minute of play. The Jets miraculously score 60 goals to tie the game and then win the game 1 second into overtime by shooting the puck off the stanchion and through Eddie Lack's five hole. That's probably the only way it could get worse. Why? If they get a loser pojnt, that would be remarkable at this point.
B_a_M
Well this season can't finish fast enough. But with all the blame going around with people wanting to fire Gillis and Torts which both makes sense, but where is Henrik Sedin. The guy is the captain of the team and you hardly hear anything from him. I love this team but I am getting sick and tired of the team playing with no heart.
