Guest Dasein
Cam Tucker @CamTucker_Metro Day One of camp: #Canucks working on the shootout. Good to see! Any guesses on who the three likely shooters will be this year? I will go with Bonino, Vrbata and Burrows. Definitely not the twins.. Yes to Bonino and Vrbata, but Burrows only has one move.. I'd go with Kassian or possibly Vey if he's good.

elvis15
As I recall the team picking him up would have to keep him on the roster for a few weeks (set time not sure how long) before they could trade him or try to send him down again. So unless they are going to play him I doubt he would get picked up by another team. If he's claimed on waivers the team he goes to has to keep him on the team all year. If they want to send him down after, we would get first rights to claim him back, then other teams would also get a chance to put in a claim. Only if no team puts in a claim could he be sent down. But as has been mentioned in the previous Markstrom threads, it's possible teams have their goalie situations all sewn up and we try and sneak him down, but it's too likely that there's at least one team who thinks he could be an upgrade on their current backup and would rather risk sending down their current #2 to make room for Markstrom. If Benning really does keep 3 goalies, it'll be a short term fix until something can be worked out. It'd also mean our young guns like Horvat and Jensen won't make it while we're keeping three goalies (and of course that'd mean Horvat goes back to junior). sexpanther
9 am to see Miller? Are you kidding... Guess I'm not seeing group 1 or 2 lol Goalies were out at 845 when I showed up. Good first group out there. Thought fox was gonna pass out!

I'd go with Kassian or possibly Vey if he's good. This is why I like the acquisitions of Bonino and Vrbata - both are shootout specialists. Now, there are more options of shooters on the team, and whoever is hot at the time can shoot third. Although, I do like Kassian, he's not bad, Vey could be decent, and then there is also Higgins. Blackberries
It looks like Horvat and Jensen are going to be given every opportunity to make the team and 4 of those 6 players are battling it out for the 4th line or bottom 6 minutes. It pretty much looks as I had expected, but it's still day 1 poor matthias, wanted to prove he can contribute and gets put on the 4th line. He is better than a 4th liner. Remember too that Miller is also very solid in the shootout as well. It was definitely one of his stronger points in Buffalo.
Blackberries
I dont think that our goaltending was that bad in the shootout last year, it was the lack of scoring.

Nucks-4-Life
Richardson as 3C really makes me cringe. I hope Vey can take over that spot. And I agree, Matthias needs to be a top 9 forward or traded out of here for a pick or prospect.
