Magikal
I didn't see this posted anywhere so my apologies if this is on the forum already. FYI the video footage might be disturbing for some as you can clearly see the police shoot this man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlQnjr3ff_0 The city is already gone into protest over the shooting with several eye witnesses and video footage going against what the police are saying what happened Here is an article from a website stating what the police claim happened: Subject: February 10 Officer Involved Shooting StatementOn Tuesday, February 10, at approximately 5:00pm, 911 dispatch received a call from a citizen in the Fiesta Foods parking lot at 10th and Lewis regarding a man throwing multiple rocks at cars and trucks. Pasco Police officers were dispatched and responded to the scene and found a person matching the description given. 10th and Lewis is one of the busiest intersections in Pasco, especially during the rush hour. The Fiesta Foods parking lot was busy with many cars and customers. The officers observed the subject threatening the public and engaged the man using voice commands and low level force to bring the man under control to no effect. Multiple rocks of various sizes, including at least one that was about softball size, were thrown by the subject. During the altercation two of the officers were struck with rocks. The subject refused to follow the officers' commands to put down the rocks and to surrender. A TASER was also deployed with no effect on the subject. With the threatening behavior by the subject toward the public and officers continuing, officers ultimately fired on the subject with their service weapons and the subject went down. Officers then immediately contacted the Pasco Fire Department to render aid.Pasco Fire Department Paramedics arrived at the scene and determined that the subject was deceased, and treated the two officers at the scene for injuries. The Tri-City Special Investigation Unit (SIU) will conduct the investigation of this incident. Pasco officers secured the scene until the arrival of SIU. The Washington State Patrol Crime lab was contacted to assist the SIU in the investigation. The SIU's investigation is in its preliminary stages, and all further information on the investigation will be handled through the SIU.Officers involved in this incident are:Officer Ryan Flanagan, 9 year veteran assigned to patrol. Traffic Safety Officer.Officer Adam Wright, 8 year veteran assigned to patrol. Firearms instructor and Field Training Officer.Officer Adrian Alaniz, 2 year veteran assigned to patrol. The deceased was identified as Antonio Zambrano-Montes by the Franklin County Coroner. In accordance with department policy, the officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Upon completion of the SIU investigation, their report will be forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutors office to be reviewed for any further action. Subsequent to the SIU investigation and prosecutor determination, an internal investigation will be conducted by the department. Information regarding this incident will be released upon the conclusion of these processes. In the video you can hear a few people claim they never used a taser and you can watch as the man is shot int he back while running away and then when he stops running and turns around the police immediately shoot him several times. They also place handcuffs on the man after he has been shot dead. For me, after seeing the video footage it seems pretty clear that this is a case of extreme abuse of power and cold blooded murder. The police involved need to be charged and put to trial. If found guilty they should receive the same punishment any other murderer would in Washington State. Another chilling fact is that this man was shot in the middle of the day with lots of civilians walking around. In the video it appears that the police have no care for their surroundings and are quick to use their firearms. That is my opinion at least. The victim was apparently mentally ill. It was also stated by many witnesses that he had no weapons and (according to one of the witnesses) was throwing rocks at a truck.
canadiancon
If 4-5 officers can't contain a man that is throwing rocks and need to resort to shooting him, they should all turn in there badges. This is disgusting and these guys should be stripped of there uniform and thrown in gen pop.

Derp...
Craz bruv. This is why there should be reform in police training and more thorough mental analysis before people are allowed to become gun carrying officers. I don't understand why they won't look into training as a possible source for these reoccurring issues.

Papayas
You guys know what is the scary thing? It's not that the cops killed a man who throw rocks at them, it is the amount of people who think it's the right thing to do in the comment section on YouTube and how many plus they receive. Rick Grimes
It's hard to trust the Police when you keep seeing garbage like this from all over the world. I know there are good officers in the bunch...but man, the dumb mother f****ers really seem to be outweighing intelligence and common sense.. It's a lovely little world that's being/been created, eh? Keep people uneducated/in poverty enough that they can't be critical thinking/active enough to stand up to this sort of thing and unleash the police on the peasants, and use the media to control everything else.. No wonder they fear the internet..
Offensive Threat
Im gonna take a wild guess that Pasco city does not have much of a budget for training its police officers. Our officers get training in de-escalating situations without ever drawing their weapons. In Pasco they probably just get sent to the shooting range for training. You are correct in he was "assaulting" an officer. People assault officers all the time, but yet they don't get shot. They were rocks, not Bullets. They fired multiple rounds in a busy area, risking other people's lives all over a guy throwing friggen rocks. If you think this is anything close to ok, you have some problems. -DLC-
Sticks and stones may break some bones But guns kill. Fight fair cops, you're bringing guns to a rock fight. Seems a little lopsided and this guy didn't stand a chance. Police protecting citizens....I think they're doing it wrong. This is a blatant example of that. What if one of those bystanders DID jump in to help?....chances are, we'd have two dead people.
