My dad just made this the other dad. One of the few things he will cook. Its on my list as well.

  1. Any braised meat but I will go with short ribs braised in maple syrup (think meat candy) with roasted carrots and beets and mashed potatoes with sweet corn.
  2. Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, gravy and roasted potatos
  3. Beef tenderloin in peppercorn sauce, asparagus, salad.

I see that you're a meat and potatoes sort of guy...I know for certain that I would enjoy dining with you.

I was thinking about that when I posted. I have cut meat way back and I love my veggies however thinking about eating veggies does not make my mouth salivate!

Maybe Benning will sign me.

Hard to narrow it down to just three. I'd have to make two categories - restaurant and homemade.

Restaurant:

Kentucky Fried Chicken

Greek Souvlaki

Fish and Chips from Jack's Fish Spot at Pike Place Market in Seattle

Homemade:

Rice and beans

Beef and vegetable stew

Meat loaf with mashed potatoes, gravy and cut green beans

1.  Steak, baked potato, and garlic bread.  Caesar salad on the side.

2.  Homemade Pizza.  BBQ sauce, chicken, ham, bacon, and a 4 cheese blend.

3.  These days.  Butter chicken and naan bread.  Garlic bread goes great with butter chicken as well.

What doesn't Garlic bread go well with?  Seriously, it has to be one of the greatest sides or meal component of all time.

make any sandwich with garlic bread....flavour country. Population: you.

Good point.  I always make my beef dips with garlic bread.  Fresh St. Market has the best garlic bread around as far as I see it.  They make it fresh in store daily.  They also make their own breads in store.

When I get desperate I go ghetto....for example:. I have some pulled pork kicking around and a couple Italian rolls....heat up the pan, liberally apply butter on buns, sprinkle garlic salt on buns.  Place buns on pan. Bingo.
