D-Money Posted January 23, 2017 Share Posted January 23, 2017 The Los Angeles Kings are considering options for the following prospects: Kenny Agostino - Ripping it up for the Chicago Wolves, with 55 points in 44 games, with a +13. Alexandre Grenier - Having a career season in Utica, with 13 goals and 32 points in 38 games. Troy Grosenick - The once highly-touted goaltending prospect had a rough year last year, but has rebounded with a fantastic season, posting a .927 save percentage and a 2.27 GAA. Each of them are having outstanding seasons, and are potential call-ups on teams in the playoff picture. Next season, with an additional 23 jobs up for grabs in the league, they very well might be NHL roster players. However, they are also impending free agents (Agostino & Grenier RFAs), and with other young players and prospects also putting up strong numbers in our organization, we aren't sure if they fit our future plans. Caboose certainly needed a playoff defenseman, and Spurgeon is on an incredibly strong team. Who knows what will happen with Pokka (expansion IRL?), but Stone is the real wild card here. There's been rumblings that he may get traded IRL to a playoff contender. If that happens, CS just gained a huge bargaining chip. If not, he gained a Coyote. I think I overpaid but I've been striking out all over the league looking for a D man. I love Stone but Spurgeon brings a more proven talent, signed under 6mil, on a top team. We believe we have landed you in a great situation! Good luck all! We are taking a bit of a risk here trading a 26 or 27 minute a night D man. We felt we had to multiply our numbers & we gained a prospect and a pick. Michael Stone, coming off injury is not having a great year. But was 35 plus points just last year. And we believe will rebound. I watched him play against Minny the other night. And he was flying. The knee looked in great shape. The wild card is Pokka? Once a top prospect, who has not made it yet. But he's a 220 lb D, and having a solid AHL season.
