RRypien37
Quiet on the McGregor fan boy front eh? The fight was essentially over a minute in. The ONLY possible way Mac would have stood any kind of remote chance is if he RUSHED May right off the bat and started very very aggressive looking for the KO within the first 3 rounds. Was shocked at how tentative and slow he was out of the gate. May played his classic 3 round feeling out phase, analyzing tendencies and storing information for the later rounds. Then once Mac started losing steam, it was easy work. Mac really should've taken a page out of Maidana's book from his FIRST fight with May. That was the last time anyone gave May any kind of real trouble. Bad strategy and game plan by Macs team. I didn't give him any chance from the second this fight was announced, but that would have been his best bet to make it as competitive as possible. Yeah, Mayweather broke down Conor's "insane pace" lol from round 3 onward just by stepping to him. The rest of the fight was:

GLASSJAW
lol @ conor landing more "significant blows" than pacquio. interesting to see Conor discuss how he was misusing energy (compared to how energy is used in UFC)
Angry Goose
ok just to stir things up: I don't understand how people can honestly give Conor any credit for this fight. He hung on for 10 rounds after talking a big game. I particularly like the stat that Conor landed more than Mayweather's other opponents Floyd's post-fight conference was good. Looking forward to Conor's next

Please don't slate me for this but i don't think the man is a very educated individual, having said that i believe he is like alot of tough people with a rough upbringing who are quite often more honest in times like this than your average well heeled fighters in similar situations.I believe he is one of those honest individuals. CANUCK-EXPRESS
Pretty easy fight for Floyd. I don't think he was in any trouble in the fight including the early rounds. He was clearly letting McGregor hit him to punch himself out because he knew he would tire in the later rounds then he went on the offensive. Entertaining fight. Made couple of hundred bucks. Onto the next one.

When I got in, it was 1.30 for Mayweather. I think it maxed out at 1.33.

Macgregor could have lost the fight on points deducted for hammer blows and holding behind the head had the ref so wanted but he stopped it in rd 10 for a guy defenseless and not making any attempt to defend himself.Even in MMA the fight can be stopped for lack of fighting and lack of defense so no complaints there. Macgregor did say they had trained for a 12 rd fight and believed if the ref had let him get through rd 10 back to his corner he could have got a second wind ( as Quoted ) Looking at Mayweather after the fight he looks untouched,Macgregor on the other hand has a well marked face. Due to a game, had to miss this live but watching it I was very impressed how well MacG did actually - boxing is tough and you learn it over a lifetime and he was visibly out of his depth but far less so than I imagined. Mayweather Jr prolonged the bout to let the lesser experienced "boxer" tire himself out but I think with all the BS removed and honest (e.g. you will never hear it) responses from both, Mayweather Jr. will say he was surprised how much fight was in his opponent and how well he actually did. I thought this would be a complete farce/spectacle lasting less than two rounds but was surprised and impressed at that tough bugger and that he actually looked decent for a few rounds until he started to fatigue and the blows were having an impact. People will look at MacGregor at the end of his career and point to the number of losses he has on his record relative to other fighters. However, there are very few fighters that have tried to break the mold as much as MacGregor has (BJ Penn being one exception). He fought Diaz at 170 when he was nowhere close to being used to carrying that weight (he still isn't, IMO, which is why he gets fatigued so easily). He might not have the greatest record, but that's only because he has taken himself out of his element to just try new things.
