Welcome to [Mafia] Hyperspace, a retrofuturistic romp through a great city without a name, where everyone drives supercars and wears sunglasses even though it’s always night time. It’s a place where rain falls often, given an almost mystical quality of colour by the glow of the neon signs of the districts downtown, signs standing as beacons of immorality on the fronts of the nightclubs, gamblers’ dens, and so on,—sketchy places where everyone can find something,—welcoming people who know better, people who don’t, and people who know too much… those of the latter group never lasting long inside. Its streets are dominated by a small group—the Mafia—exerting power over the angry Citizenry, controlling the businesses, the casinos and everything that circulates inside and outside of their establishments. They’re omnipotent in their underworld.

 

Recently, a slew of hits pulled off by the Mafia in which many citizens of status in the city were taken out sparked a response unseen in prior days. The Citizenry has turned to vigilantism; as the Mafia continues to murder coldly any and all who pose to them a threat, and as the courts and law enforcement ignore the cases, bought off by the organized crime, there is no time or room for trials or judicial practice but time only for finger-pointing and quick execution. The city, ultimately, offers everything, but only to those willing to use force to keep it. It is a mystery who pulls the strings here; will this new effort to uncover them succeed or end vainly, possibly in disaster?

 

 

Important Information — All Players Should Read

 

-This game will be of a partially closed setup, meaning the list of roles included will remain secret. It is absolutely possible that I will make up some roles entirely. There are two bits of information that aren’t closed: 1. there will be a Vanilla TP role called ‘Citizen,’ which will be the most common role in the game, and 2. there will be no third party faction in this game and no mechanism through which a player can change factions
 

-PMing will be allowed

 

-Everyone in the game will need to make 5 posts in a round for their vote to count in it. Spam posts will not count; there needs to be something of substance or contribution, and it will be at the host's discretion as to whether a post constitutes an acceptable one. The barrier is quite low here, and players can feel free to @ me or send me a private message to ask whether a post counts

 

-God Kills are a last resort for inactivity. Voting is not a requirement to uphold activity, but posting is. If you disappear or appear to stop trying, I will do my best to find a sub before God Killing you. Subs/God Kills may also be rendered for trolling, etc., at the host’s discretion; basically, don’t be a jerk, play the game you signed up for, and we should be good. Warnings will most likely be handed out before I try to sub/GK unless I deem an action particularly egregious

 

-Watch the angleshooting. I don’t want to see host PMs being used to clear members, nor any other tricks of this or a similar nature appearing in game discourse. To combat this, I will personalize every single PM in the game. Players may paraphrase host PMs but not quote them directly/verbatim in game discourse

 

-The deadline for votes and actions will be at 11PM PST, with nightfalls posted shortly after. I am sorry if this affects anyone negatively, but it's easier on my schedule if I do it this way. I would rather not end voting/actions at 10PM and have everyone waiting around for an hour+

I'm lynching him in round 1 because he needs to pay the price. The bird does not get to embarrass the whale and then fly away like everything is fine. Everything is not fine.

oh DW I'm giving him a role where his only action is to VK himself and he gets GKed if he doesn't do it
