Shouldn't matter where he came from as long as its not a charge. Its playoffs, guys are looking to make big hits especially players like Ferland.

 

Head contact was only because Dowd was reaching. Ferland didn't target the head or stick out an elbow. On Ferland's end the contact was through the body. Refs don't have the benefit of replay but 5 & a game was too much IMO.

 Backstrm and Kuze lines both scored today. 

 

Hard to beat caps when both their top 2 lines produce offense. 

 

Caps haven't brought their A game yet.  

 

They'll make it to next round. Likely play NYI. 

 

That's going to be a heck of a series. Trotz knows the caps team more than anyone. NYI will have a very good chance to win that series.

Ferlands known as someone that makes late hits in the playoffs.Few of his hits should have been penalties in 2015

5 and a game was to much but after the ovie elbow and then the dougie elbow its shown it wasnt as bad but still a dangerous play.Dowd got a stick to the face then a big hit.

Yeah a penalty for sure, but the match was too much I agree. Didn't see the other plays, but hopefully Dowd's okay. Like him as a player, for what he is anyways.

This series is boring compared to the other ones in playoffs. 

 

I want to see OV win another couple of cups. But they aren't playing as hard other teams so far. 

 

Maybe they're saving indie round 2 knowing they lucked out getting Canes in 1st round and will beat them without playing their best hockey.
