Leipsic is a marginal NHL’er.   Aside from a dismal first 2/3’s of the season last year, Pearson has consistently been a very good 2nd line player.

True but even you know we probably could of got something decent out of Baer, he going to get picked up on waivers.

If they waive Baer it is about cap space and they must figure he will be claimed. There is no use in waiving him if it is not about cap space. They only get the basic 1 mil for him. If they think he will get injured then he would be better here. if he gets injured he would go on IR.

This team has cap troubles.

I think the team is concerned with Sven’s concussion history, good chance he is one hit from being out of the league  , if we waive someone else lose them and then lose Sven 3 weeks from now it’s a double whammy

Have to agree here. nothing else makes sense outside of giving him some time in the AHL to play through all of his current injury history and when injuries happen hopefully he's completely ready to go.

For another team to take on his cap with the concussion history would be quite a surprise.

But somehow Toronto has more cap space than Vancouver?

The Canuck had been shopping Baertschi (reportedly), but there were no takers.   That cap hit is too much of a risk to take on, given Baertschi’s health issues and limited game.

I like Baertschi, but he’s an injury prone average 2nd line player that can’t really be used in any other role.    People can hate on Eriksson all they want, but LE can atleast be used in every single forward role out there (except Center).

My best wishes to Sven.   Riding buses and eating egg rolls may not be such a bad thing.

Baertchi has outplayed Eriksson imo he should not be the casualty of the numbers game.

Not to single you out, but who's to say Eriksson isn't also going on waivers? Or won't be waived when Roussel returns? Bunch of you freaking out

As for Sven...tough call but this is likely as much as giving him a chance elsewhere as who he did or didn't out play. Plus as much as some of you like to ignore it, the team needs PK'ers too. And with our PP already filled up with other players, there isn't really a role left for Sven.

Ferland, Pettersson, Boeser

Pearson, Horvat, Miller

Gaudette, Sutter, Leivo/Virtanen

Motte, Beagle, Schaller

Virtanen

Because the names mentioned in the report did not include Eriksson.

The problem with Baertschi is that he isn’t a good fit on the bottom 6.    Yes - he had chemistry with Gaudette (Who is slated to be the 3rd line C), but a combination of Baertschi and Gaudette would have too many shortcomings for a 3rd line.

I’m not the biggest fan of Eriksson, but he can be used in both a top 6 and a bottom 6 role, not to mention both wings.

What does Eriksson bring on any occasion other than killing penalties as a winger.  He produces nothing, no shots, hits or blocks is his usual stat line.

We are a young team. We have good young players that can skate, shot, score and learn, things that Eriksson doesn't do anymore.

Put Sutter with them, but Rousell with them, put Leivo with them, put Virtannen with them.

We have a second line of Pearson, Bo and Miller.  That line is going to match up and take alot of tough faceoffs.  We have Beagle with Motte and whomever. Beagle is another center to take the hard match ups.

Sutter can take faceoffs, play wing or center, Gaudette can take faceoffs and learn the pro game while playing wing.  Like Kesler did before him.  We can send him down without any issues at anytime this season.  But he has earned the spot.

Baer is a good two way player.  No issue with him on the 3rd.

We don't need Eriksson, not one bit.  The guy offers next to nothing in terms of offence, yes he can kill penalties as a winger.  That is a learned aspect. Manny and Green can teach any monkey to do that.

Are you seriously saying we should waive Sven and keep Eriksson.  Did you hit your head?  Not a joke, just concerned.

Are you JB and are you having a stroke?  WTF.
