Ty Smith is a lesser version of Hughes with terrible defensive play. We shouldn't trade Quinn for those two ( I am guessing there was more in the trade from NJD). Hughes-Vatanen Murray-Hamonic Rathbone-Myers Isn’t the sexiest option in the world, but perhaps it’s the most cost effective?.........and workable? A defense full of old smart vets? Hughes - Hamonic Juolevi - Myers Rathbone - Schmidt Reilly Reilly probably rotates with Juolevi and Rathbone throughout the season and whoever plays more consistently sticks but eventually the kids will take more time. That one could be possible, although the flyers are looking for RHD as well, Schmidt did play that side for Vegas so could be done. would give us a sizeable, young, RHD who is okay defensively, however he was expected to have a breakout season after promising play last season and he has slumped so his stock is low, so it might not even take Schmidt. if we got in early before FA, potentially something like Juo, rights to Rafferty, and a 3rd, with something else coming back their way as well. the issue is though I don’t see us being that great trading partners as we are both looking to get RHD, both looking to size up on the back end as well so if anything we are likely to be competing for the same players and of really have what each other needs. if we could get Myers and/or Stanley this season would be good.
