The New Jersey Devils have come to terms with pending restricted free agent defenseman Jalen Chatfield, the young blueliner has seen his NHL ice time increase over the past couple of seasons. Going into camp this fall Jalen has a real shot at making the club and providing solid two-way depth at the blueline position. We see he still has another level he can get to, we hope this season comes to fruition for Jalen Chatfield in that regard. Many thanks to agent @lethunder for the time involved ensuring Mr Chatfield has a fair proper deal. Jalen Chatfield has re-signed with the Devils on a two year deal that will pay him $ 925,000 per season over the next two seasons. The New Jersey Devils have come to terms with pending unrestricted free agent Brandon Saad, arguably one of the teams biggest priorities for the offseason. The team was thrilled with Brandon's play and character on and off the ice once acquired this past mid-season. The team has made a very serious commitment to Mr Saad and his family moving forward with a multi year deal that also provides trade protection. Brandon can play up and down the lineup and is a key figure on our club's special teams. Flirting with 50+ points and providing 20+ goals on the regular we felt Brandon was an integral part of the club's Playoff drive and will be relied upon for years to come providing reliable and productive minutes anywhere in the lineup. Over a hundred games of Playoff experience and already a two-time Stanley Cup champion, we are thrilled to have a person of Brandon's pedigree back with the Devils! Much appreciation to agent @arby18_ for the time and back and forth involved to ensure both player and team were the right fit and security moving forward. Brandon Saad has re-signed with the Devils on a five year deal that will pay him $ 5,500,000 per season over the next five seasons. As per tradition we allow a few days grace period for all General Managers to get a chance to submit their offers at the beginning of Free Agency, an offer submitted on day one vs day three of this grace period does not hold any bearing but allows flexibility to our members to get their offers in. Secured two first round forwards in the process with Yurov & Gaucher. Novikov a 6'3'' 19 year old D full time the last two years in the KHL, can play NHL? Russian factor, will he ever make it over the pond? Yurov could be a star, but same question? Lorenz a F & Fischer a D are 6'3'' NHL level talents with great athletic skills. One played high school this year, the other AJHL we have yet to see them against solid competition? Hamara a fundamentally sound highly mobile D from Czechia, played in the Liiga this draft year. We should see him at the WJC's next month in Edmonton. Along with Gaucher a big physical 2 way C. Edmonton now has a prospect pool with SIX NHL 1st round forwards; Danila Yurov, Nathan Gaucher, Nolan Foote, Brayden Tracey, Isaak Rosen & Brennan Othman. While we may have helped the Devils out by clearing some of their cap space, we couldn't help ourselves as we added an outstanding veteran and stabilizing presence to our blueline for free. He'll step right onto the top-pair alongside Travis Sanheim as we continue to overhaul our roster by looking towards the future by surrounding the youngsters with quality veterans. We would like to thank Maxim for his contributions during his time with the Devils and we wish him the very best moving forward. as per tsn.ca: After spending this past season with the Florida Panthers, it appears Maxim Mamin is headed back to the KHL.
