Our defense was average...  Quinn, Rathbone, Poolman and OEL had very strong games.  My boy Myers was just average, and Rathbone had quite a tough game.

Garland was by far our best forward.  Hoggy was great again, and Horvat was fighting the puck a lot today EXCEPT for the two goals of course.

Dowling, Highmore, Pearson and Boeser had fairly good games.

Everybody else really struggled out there, most notably Elias, but also Miller and Lammikko.  At least Lammikko and Miller battled through it and contributed with energy.

MVP: Demko, of course.

I can breath easier when Myers is just average. On most nights you never know which way he'll go.

We really, really need to get the bubble Petey back to go anywhere this season. Understandably 7 month is a long time and he also totally missed training camp and preseason, but when you just signed a new, big fat contract you can hide only for so long.

AM is also an above career PPG player, a top 3 goal scorer in the game and a three time 40 goal scorer sooooooo.  We need to temper expectations on Petey a bit around here. Definitely not a top player in the league yet as many on here thought he was. Potential is there though

Big fan of AM, my point was simply if your going to use Petey having a rough start as proof AM is better then him than using AMs horrible start is only fair.

Peteys first 2 seasons and playoffs were not that far off of AM, last season AM was better but not exactly fair since Petey miss 30+ games and was on a role.

People get far to worked up over small sample sizes, apart from 8 games last season Petey has been basically a ppg. It is obvious that he is a step behind and not playing since February and missing most of camp will do that.

Thankfully we don't rely on him as much as the leafs rely on AM.

His development is important. How is he supposed to gain confidence sitting? Chiasson shouldn’t be played over him.

If you want development, shouldn't he be in the AHL getting lots of play time then.  The season is early.  The team needs some practice time which they'll get on this homestand now.

He just needs ice time. He is already better than at least 3 guys playing over him.

He creates opportunities really well and would certainly give the PP some creativity.

We just have to be patient with this group. In a lot of ways, they've surpassed expectations, considering all the extra complications other than half the team being new and starting on the road. Like injuries and contract delays. Petey having no training camp, after missing half of last season, is hitting him harder than anyone predicted.

Maybe Petey knew that about himself, and thats why he flew into Vancouver secretly to try and move it along.

But I really think that once the team gets back to Vancouver, and can practice together regular, do some drills, we'll see the old Petey start to come out again.  This whole team needs that TBH

Both had wrist problems???

could be fighting the same injury demons. some wrist bones structures take long time to heal - range of motion.?
