JUST WIN BABY!

Vancouver (.537) has moved ahead of Anaheim (.536) in Points Percentage (P%).

Winnipeg (.519) and San Jose (.509) are not far behind (.519 and .509), but they are behind (and we are HOT).

Scratching and Clawing our way up to the playoffs now means we have to pass a few of the following:

Edmonton is within reach (.575) 3 points up on us with 1 game in hand.

Next up is Current Third Wildcard Holder, Vegas (.585) 4 points up on us with 1 game in hand.

Then Current Second Wildcard Holder, Dallas (.587) 3 points up on us and 2 games in hand.

Biting and Pulling Hair gets us within Spitting and Slapping Distance of:

Current First Wildcard Holder, Nashville (.604) 6 points up on us and 1 game in hand.

Then Current Second in the Pacific, LA (.613) 7 points up on us and 1 game in hand.

Long shot but doable perhaps (?) Current 3rd in the CentralMinnesota (.650) 7 points up on us but 4 games in hand too.

Really liking a couple of lines:

Hoglander - Pettersson - Podkolzin

Highmore - Lammikko - Motte

I also think Horvat and Miller should stay (cond on money and term)

That leaves Boeser, Garland, Pearson and Dickinson who I feel should be moved.

I'll be keeping an eye on Zacha, Severson and Smith in this game.

Push comes to shove, I'd deal Boeser way before dealing Garland. I think Garland has another level to his game, and is on a vey good deal.

I'll bet you could get Zacha+ Smith for Boeser.

One of the oddest streaks, indeed.

Pretty sure we always get New Jersey on the second half of back to backs.

That would explain half those losses.

So that leaves like 5 or 6 at home which is still a high number but we were also a terrible team during that stretch.

Agree; Horvat and Miller have to be retained. If they don't, it is absolutely ridiculous. Trading good/great assets for prospects and/or hope that late 1st round draft picks work out is stupid.

In term of your second tier list:

- Trade Boeser

- Try to unload Dickenson; even for futures if you can

- Why the hell would we trade Garland. He is a bonifide 2nd line player on a good contract signed longterm.

- Pearson: Ive beat on the guy for years, but in his absence this year, you can see he is a guy that just gets stuff done; right place at right time with size. Another good player on an ok contract.

Doing the above will free up the cash to resign Horvat, Miller, and Motte longterm, and allow the canucks to go get another garland level player (a guy like Toffoli would have been great @ 4.25m).

Hogz - Petterson - Podz

Pearson - Horvat - Garland

Motte - Miller - FA

FA/AHL - Lammiko - Highmore

On Defense;

- Trade Hamonic at TDL for what you can get

- Try to unload Poolman in off season; even for futures if you can

- Sign a true stud Defensive RHD in FA

OEL-Myers

Hughes-Schenn

Rathbone/Burroughs/Hunt- FA RHD

Then, when Schenn bows out after next year...

OEL-Myers

Hughes- FA RHD

Rathbone/Burroughs - Woo/Schenn type Vet

In my opinion, the unsung hero that is saving the D is Schenn. He has covered up the Hamonic sh!tshow all year, and allowed us 2 cheap years to transition the defense to teh future.

Gotta throw lots of pucks at the net from everywhere today.

Gonna need four or five in this one I think.

Not confident in Halak’s ability this season especially after sitting for long stretches. Demko has also been covering a lot of defensive breakdowns this season too.

If they play with the intensity of the last 2 games then we should be able to score enough regardless of who is in net. Having said that, we have a history of playing down to the level of weaker teams. I'm trusting BB to make sure that they are mentally prepared.

Another 5 - 2 win will do nicely, please and thankyou
