Traded off Zack MacEwen create cap space for Chiasson was a huge mistake, imagine Zack in Chiasson's spot

Chiasson has as many goals as Mac has points (6), and in 10 less games. I wish we hadn't let Zack go but Chiasson has been a more effective player.

For league minimum & not playing every night 5-10 goals is perfectly fine. Everyone loves Motte & he only has 1 more goal on the season than Chiasson.

Sadly, no such luck.  O'Rourke is not exactly known for conducting himself appropriately; he was part of the open corruption against us in 2011.  No respectable league would look at his record and even consider employing this scumbag.

So, of course, we get him in our latest most crucial game of the year.

Zach and Gadjovic in our bottom six would sure help out Schenn.

Green completely lost me during the pre season.  Until then i felt he made lemonade out of JB lineup because well really it was never that great.   Stung when Gadj worked his butt off (and also was strange that with that much roster change the regulars weren't engaged)...then also let Zach go.  My least favourite GM coach ... At least knew the value of having guys like that in the lineup.  The players love them, the fans love them.   Was just screwy.

Edit: Of course i'm talking about Mike Keenan.   At least back then we had some really tough teams during the suckage.

The toughness element though....he's always willing to go. That part is missed a whole lot.

Zack doesn't get Chiasson's line mates in Vancouver did he.   No comparison.  Zack was way better and is still better.

I agree. I don't mind Chiasson, would've been nice if they could've found a way to keep Zack though.

Someone like that will to need to be acquired in the offseason imo, hopefully someone who's a better player than Zack tho.

Nick Deslaurier is a UFA, that would be a good target.

Sure he did. He got shifts on Horvat's line the year before.

He had opportunities but didn't show enough consistently. The NHL game is kinda fast for him.

Yes he did get some chances.   But did Green give him the PP time Chiasson got?  Nope.     It's not just that.   Chiasson should be on the fourth line ... i'd rather have Zack on that line.   Or Gadjovich.

I'm still shocked why this has to be explained? Not every player has to get points. Being able to dictate play is a big deal. Block shots, crash the net, lots of clean body checks.

You can't have all skill guys.

Chiasson is sort of a specialist though, its a different situation. Chiasson is legitimately good down low.

I was a defender of MacEwen but ultimately he had a bad showing in the pre-season, and was (at best) so-so last year. As I said to Deb I'd love to target Nic Delauriers in the offseasono

Zack's doing well in Philly...they love him there. Fighting, scoring goals (last night). I'm happy for him but sad for us.

He would've been in and out of the lineup.  I'm happy for Zack and when he was interviewed after being claimed, he had nothing but praise for our organization.

It wouldn't take much convincing to sign him back one day in the future, but no need to be sad.

Miss both zacks.  Kass and mac.  Imagine those two in our bottom 6. No one would mess with our guys or at least as much as they do now.  The team needs bigger players that can skate and i dont mean trash like bailey.

Its sad what happened with Kassian, he's turned into an effective player. Its too bad he couldn't put it together here.

Maybe one back we can bring him back, good skater for his size too.

Zack MacEwen

Nic Deslauriers

All UFA and RFAs this summer....

Or if we want the biggest and baddest fighter on skates, Samuel Morin might not get an offer from Philly either.  He's an RFA.
