Any player can play terrified trying desperately to defend for 60 minutes. But c'mon a team needs defenders that can read the play, jump in, make a 1-2 pass, start the rush, and generally be part of the teams efforts to score goals and play in the other teams end. We have none of that outside of Hughes who is too busy trying to do everything and treading water for 30 minutes a game. It's also on the forwards who don't play a team game or with any structure. Maybe if Miller has found his groove. I like the idea of having 3 scoring lines. I prefer paying C top dollar rather than wingers. Cuz typically it’s the C position that drives play, takes the faceoffs and (should) be more defensively responsible.
