Was our 2011 team a product of a rebuild?

What?!

Of course it was.

Are you saying the rebuild only produced WCE but not Sedin era?

I also don’t want a rebuild, but honestly that’s what a real scorched earth rebuild could do - rebuild for two generations.

Canucks will blow out the leafs causing JR more confusion as to which lane to take with this organization

In my opinion, nothing should change the direction of this team. The team could play at a .550 pace the rest of the season and it shouldn't change the direction of the team. We are not good enough to win a cup, and the sooner that is leaned into the sooner we can start fixing it.

Maybe that’s all we need to do?  Just a couple key moves to create that “team” atmosphere you’re speaking of.  Something like what Pat Quinn did.  We really lost a lot of our “team” when Tanev and Marky were pushed out.  Now it’s about the current guys being like a “team” and playing for the guys on the bench with them, regardless of whether they like them or not.

"WE" can't do anything unfortunately except continue to express fan expectations in a few forms.

The question I posed was not what was needed but what fans think.

Fans like players, professionals playing for pay

Or Teams that compete for championships.

It is distinguishing between fan expectations.

Those that are player only will cheer even if the team never wins a game, participation is the most important thing.

Then there those that take pride in their team having success as measured by comparing to other teams, the standings.

Both support the team but one will end up irritating or trolling others because they are satisfied all the time.

Fans that take pride in their team will suggest trades, strategies or improvements even if they are never acted on.

Fans that are players only will criticize those that make those suggestion or even question those that quote the measurements used to determine good from bad. Player fans think praying will help them win, age doesn't matter and "meh, things happen and no body can stop them from happening, things just happen" Some still think Benning was a hero and built a great team that just needs, fans to cheer them on, winning is really secondary

Honestly Boeser hasn’t looked terrible at all so far. No goals but he is creating plays and does what he does best and that’s winning board battles and retrieving pucks from behind the net.

He’s been far better than Miller.

Youre not even watching these games.  Boeser is doing nothing.  His points are  product of being given minutes.

He gets beat to pucks, gets beat in battles, cant skate with the puck, cant even skate at all.  Not to mention, brutal on the backcheck.  There are examples all over the game day threads that multiple people have pointed out.  Nice try though.

The 2011 team had that swagger, a winning culture, every player was accountable, and the stars led by example, on and off the ice. They didn't take days off when they didn't need to, or show up uncommitted and unprepared. They were a very tight knit, close group, had each others backs, and they had confidence.

This 2022 team is nothing like that.

True.

That team is still friends with eachother .  The core at least.  That was a team.  Players bled canuck colours and winning meant more to them than individual play or their contracts.

Agreed and if he gets more points fast we should trade him for what ever we can get and save cap space or use it to resign Bo.

Demko usually sleeps at 8pm.. I think the new baby is keeping him up all night......

Wait did Demko have a kid?

Honestly, that could be a huge part of his struggles if he had a kid.

Cam Talbot was very open about his struggles in the crease after his twins were born.
