Been happening more so that is old thinking. Most vets signed now to ine year deals is to trade them if they don't work out or have a good season it is now part of the game. Here's an example of our local rival that shows what a difference good management makes The Ducks' prospect pool is arguably the best in the league as well. Contrary to some people who think that winning teams can't draft well, the Ducks are the best example of how it should be done. 2015 was by far their worst year, but they easily made up for it with their more recent draft picks. They have A+ prospects like Zellweger waiting in their pipeline too. Their rebuild is almost done and they'll be pushing for playoffs as early as next year.
