Must start with holtz, as I can't see them moving Nemec for a rental fwd.

Probably similar situation as with Horvat to NYI where Lamoriello already knew he could extend him although he hadn't officially spoken to his agent.

No other team were offering a former 2nd overall - Carolina/Vegas were playoff teams and have never picked that high.  No reason for NJD to even consider it.  They only have to beat the other suitors.

The Devils aren’t looking for a center.

Which team would have paid more? The Hurricanes?

Some teams are likely looking for both a w and a C.  As big names disappear, other teams get desperate.  He might have been a great option for Carolina who are probably getting antsy at the big names coming into their conference, and they got some great, young players.

At the very least, they probably could have squeezed more out of LouLam

Nah he keeps harping on how we should have waited until the TDL to trade Bo.  Somehow Beauvillier, Raty, and a mid 1st isn't enough.

You would have turned down more coming back?

"Naw, we're good".......that would be your game plan?

Doubtful.

Lou would have moved on as he’s not a very patient man. Then we lose out on getting the best 1st in a deal.

Your fantasies are not reality.  We got an amazing haul for Bo.  You can disagree if you want cuz that's what you always do, but the return on Bo is still the best return of any trade so far.

No more than any other year, really.  If it weren't protected, I'd agree

So you’d risk Lou walking away so that we might get an extra 2nd?

Not worth the risk. The Isles offered the best pick we were gonna get and a top prospect. That first is worth an extra 2nd anyways.

Waddell of Carolina revealed that Allvin was honest from the get go that he was looking to get the highest 1st round pick possible.  Carolina would have likely never been in the mix as divisional winners.

Sounds like that's not the case, no extension in place
