  1. Also, to those saying we "outplayed them in the second half", we should be outplaying a team on the second half of a back to back in the second half, I'm not going to give them credit for doing something they should do.
  2. I really don't understand why JB extended Green, we could've had Gerard Gallant.
  3. I keep thinking Jack Rathbone is Kevin Bieksa with #3 on his back.

What's more trippy is I see #44. He's named Burroughs. And plays like Bieksa.

  4. To Schmidt, or not to Schmidt.

This is the moment of choosing of our generation.

I would love to keep Schmidt and use him in the correct manner (which is why I didn't want Green back here), but if Schmidt truly does want to move on, then we need to accommodate him.

My best advice is use Schmidt as part of a packaged deal in order to secure a long term asset (if Schmidt wants out).

      Schmidt + Miller + 9OA for Tkachuk + Andersson + 11OA

One man’s Schmidt is another man’s gold(en Knight)?  Meh, I tried.

  5. It would be funny to see Marc Bergevin lift the cup. Habs fans used to hate his guts and wanted him fired a long time ago. lol

^Hell, JB can get his name on the Cup by not re-signing Tofu.

The deadline acquisition of Petry years ago really paid off

It's a tough place to keep ones job.  Look at what happened to rookie head coach Al McNeil when he won the Cup as the Habs head coach.  Demoted/fired in the off-season.  REALLY tough crowd.

I mean, realistically he probably should have been fired a long time ago

Rare is the GM who holds his job that long, but Montreal's organizational requirements are a bit more.. unique

  6. Uhhh, why is there no "Stanley Cup Playoff" paint?! :frantic:

There are digital ads in place of the "Stanley Cup Playoffs" logo for this year.

  7. I have to get used to this new layout.

  8. I am cheering for the Panthers as my second team, I really like what's going on for them this season. I think they're for real, they have the pieces in place to be a great team but they underachieved the past couple of years, I think this is a breakthrough season and the fact that they are beating and going toe-to-toe with the likes of Tampa and Carolina and they are beating the teams they should beat at the bottom half of their division. Maybe they are just overperforming and I will be wrong when next season they are 10th in the East again but I think they are legit.
  9. I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but how about we can try putting Pettersson on the third line when he comes back to give us more depth? The first line right now is doing well without him right now so why not give it a shot?

Yup, exactly this.  Team has been pulling together without him, but when he comes back I see it working very well and we may pull off a post season!

@Type R Ron Maclean said the Habs put the dagger in the Canucks playoff chances.

Tend to agree. This team is not good enough to be a legit playoff team as constructed.

They are missing a top 6 piece another quality top 9 forward and another good d man or two if they want to be actually compete with the  ug dogs like Vegas rather than hang on for dear life and hope the goalie gets hot and they ride him like last year.

They lack depth so any significant injury to the top 9 or d core will be fatal as well.

I totally agree with the Petersson talk.

Take the defensive responsibility off him.

  11. I don't understand the people who constantly complain about the team even after a win. Apparently having fun enjoying hockey is not allowed. lol

The Canucks could win the Stanley cup, Aquilini could send every Canuck fan a gold bar and certain fans would complain that they are heavy.

      Wolfgang Durst

Easy answer, because Canucks will not make the playoffs this season. In hockey it's all about making the playoffs.

  13. Happy MAR10 day!

  14. Let's win again! Make a serious push and make life hell for everyone in this division. 4-3 Canucks in OT, Hoglander the winner.
  15. Let's win again! 5-3 Canucks, Tanner Pearson the GWG. I just want to enjoy hockey and I just want to enjoy my favourite team playing hockey!
  16. Let's win again, baby steps. No playoffs but I want this team to at least gain more respectability. Good news, we have won 2 of our last 3, I really don't care about all the negativity and the pessimism plaguing this team, it really does nothing but feed into a loop of negativity which mostly everyone does on here anyways. 3-2 Canucks in OT, Brandon Sutter the winner.
  17. You know what? With all the pessimism over this team why not be positive? I say Canucks win 5-4 in OT. Winner by Loui Eriksson. Book it.
  18. To be 100% honest I actually think we have played better in the last couple of weeks compared to the first month of the season.

    1. kanucks25

      kanucks25

We've definitely played better. It would have been hard to play worse or even as bad given how atrocious we were to start. We've played well enough to win a few more games than we actually have since that, but it still hasn't been good enough overall.
