Skyfall - 8.5/10

I am rating the movie as a beyond satisfied Bond fan. Will be re-watching it multiple times along with my older favourites.

It's hard to stress just how much better this movie was than the piece of crap that was Quantam of Solace.

I don't remember The Italian Job being THAT bad. But I haven't seen it since it came out.

Max Dugan Returns - 6/10

Cute little movie about a father who fights back into his daughter's and grandson's lives, mostly by showering them with gifts. It's funny seeing Matthew Broderick so young. Incredibly corny at times, but still a decent family flick.

About 5 months ago, there was an interview with Daniel Craig, where he explained the nightmare that was Quantam of Solace. He indicated that the script wasn't even finished when they started filming due to the writers strike. So he and the director would often come to set and literally write lines on some of the days of shooting.Still no excuse, though. Everyone should remember that, for the most part, Bond films are pretty bad. I enjoy most of them, but they are popcorn films, nothing more. Casino Royale was the exception.Quantam of Soloce will go down with Die Another Day and Moonraker as the worst in the series though.

Skyfall- 7.5/10

Great movie. I was thoroughly entertained. Silva may be my favourite bond villain, his character was fascinating and his performance was awesome. It had some plot elements I didn't like though, and it did seem to drag its feet at times. I also didn't like how long it took to get to the villain. This was hands down, miles ahead of Quantum of Solace, and I'm not sure where it ranks in terms of my favourite bond movie (Its at the top with Casino Royale, but I'm a big fan of Craig's bond.) I'll have to see both a few more times before I can decide. They make numerous references to Bond's age in the film as well, so hopefully Craig has a few more movies left in him before a new Bond steps up to the plate. Still, not quite your typical Bond film, it strays from the beaten path a far bit, and that's refreshing to see.

Wreck-it Ralph- 9/10.

I love this movie. I am flabbergasted that I enjoyed it this much. I am an incredibly cynical, pessimistic guy, and it still tugged on my heart strings and filled me with joy. The casting was absolutely spot-on, every actor did an incredible job. Right from the beginning you're deeply immersed in this world they've created, and its as visually stimulating as anything Pixar has come up with. The story is surprisingly deep for a kids movie, and the characters are engaging, complex, and easy to emphasize with. There are some jokes you would not expect to hear in a Disney flick either. To top it all off there are numerous subtle, but well implemented references that make the movie even better when you catch them. The only major criticism I have is that a really good scene is followed by a montage backed by a Rihanna song, which comes out of nowhere and sort've spoils the immersion.

All in all, fantastic. I've seen it twice so far. My favorite animated movie ever.

If anyone is having a bout of annoying good spirits and wholesome joy, I suggest watching Never Let Me Go. It will cure you. ***Do not watch movie if there are any sharp implements or nooses nearby as exposure may cause involuntary suicide attempts***

SPOILER ALERT BELOW!!!

As for a rating, I give it a 3/10. I would have given it a zero if it weren't for the solid acting. The story is preposterous and the characters don't live up to the emotions they reveal. They are capable of love, hate, jealousy but not survival? At least The Island (basically the same script) puts the characters in a situation where running from their plight is difficult as they are basically raised in a subterranean prison. In this movie the character's only control is an electronic wrist band that tracks their whereabouts. No attempt to remove it? No attempt to run? Characters go to great lengths to gain an extension on life but give in when the time comes without a fight? This is a movie devoid of not only any positive emotion, but logic.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 - 4/10

First things first, my wife dragged me to this. Second, this is really her only guilty pleasure film series I have to endure, or tv for that matter. She has never watched Sex in the City, Titanic, etc. So, really I have it pretty good. That being said, this was probably the most tolerable film of the series for a guy to watch. I would give it a 1, but I know that I am not the target audience for it, so I'm trying to be fair. Quite a few things that were out of place, according to my wife. Also had the "dream sequence" that Dallas finale was critized for, which was a big FU anyone watching. Ultimately, it was a 3, but I gave it another 1 as it is the last film in the series. The credits were the best part of the film. I got to leave.

Skyfall - 7/10

Pros:

Amazing cinematography

Great fight scenes

Javier Bardem was awesomely creepy

Nice bait-and-switch with the Bond girl

All the throwbacks to previous Bond films (ejector seat, Bardem's deformity, Moneypenny etc...)

Cons:

The dialogue was terrible

The plot. I don't want to go into any spoilers here, but Bardem's motivation was dumb, his plan was even dumber, and his actions while carrying out his plan were even dumber still.
