D-Money
Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't we have just 3 million left up to the cap atm? If so, theres no chance in hell he would sign for that. Unless a Luongo deal is coming soon.

elvis15
Let's look it on the bright side now. Garrison would be happy right now. Raymond played a big factor in Garrison's decision to sign here.

suolucidir
Bunch of maroons. This signing means very little. There was no chance that he wasn't going to be extended at around this mark. Arbitration wouldn't have gotten him any lower, and he's be guaranteed to be signed for 1 more year. That was all a GIVEN. All this means is that if there are/were plans to trade him those talks can begin now. Anyone upset by this has no understanding of the process whatsoever. Bang Bang Boogie
Ugh...I wouldn't have gone over 2 mil. I hope this signing doesn't mean Gillis couldn't sign or acquire anybody else.

Teksys
Not sure why we resigned him? Sign and trade doesn't seem likely but I'd love it if that was the case.

NucksCelts
He better know well lucky he is. Since when did 20 pts amount to 2.3M?
suolucidir
as much as I hate to see him stay here, it's either this or him going to arbitration. And with that we'd either lose him for nothing or be stuck with him for the year. Gillis had to do this to keep his options open and keep something with some value... DefCon1
This just may leave the possibility of a trade coming now, Raymond could not be traded while he was waiting for the arbitration date. So if they have a package for Raymond and Luongo can go forward now. Or we could just keep him to see if he improves his play for a year. Either way its a no loose situation for the Canucks. Bang Bang Boogie
Below 2 million was not an option. Maximum pay reduction was 15%.
Spoosh
Nice to have that done and dealt with, I don't understand why everyone hates the guy so much.
