http://www.eliteprospects.com/ informs that Mayson Raymond signed lock-out deal with Írebro Hockey from Allsvenskan (2nd best swedish league).
Team's official site confirmed the news (swedish language) - http://www.orebrohoc...-Orebro-Hockey/
MayRay's debut scheduled to be January 3rd against Mora IK.

Any reason why he didn't go to the SEL? Did he receive any offers?

Anyways, I hope the experience goes well.

BTW, Allsvenskan is pretty tough to play in this season, so I hope Mase will find scoring touch and be more confident when lockout finally ends.

Alls is not a terrible league, particularly this year.

Going the route of many of our guys, and playing in a league where he can have a lot of success, be a team leader, and not have to worry as much about transitioning to a whole new style of play.

SEL don't allow NHL players to play in the league. They are only allowed to play as replacements for injured players (like Alex Steen did in MODO and Matt Duchene in Frölunda).

Hockey Allsvenskan is a pretty good league though, especially this season with Kopitar, Bobby Ryan, Read etc. I really think that Mason could deal some damage with his speed on the bigger ice surface.

I hope he picks up a few tips on how to play hockey while he's there. If anyone needs a re-tool and a shift in playing styles it's Mason Raymond. He has a lot to prove when the NHL gets going again.

I think this could help Mason Raymond, and if we are getting Gunnarson for Luongo this could help them build a bit of chemistry before the season. I hope he leads the team in scoring we're going to need him to build some more confidence for the season, I can't wait to see him back in our line-up I don't think he will disappoint.

A good fit for him.....his perimeter style will flourish in this league.....absolutely zero chance of getting nailed.

I would perfer him not to be traded because I think he can find back his scoring touch. Mason Raymond is a good guy, he came back to play after an injury and the fan's constant rambling about how we should move him. Even through all this he still tries his best with the Canucks. He's not Kesler or Sedin but he was drafted by us and he does show heart with our organization.

Curious as to the upheaval that will be caused on all these teams when the NHL gets back to business.

this has been bothering me for a while, as well. All that talent across the pond, to have it go running back to mama is sure to disrupt the season. I'm beginning to hope the one on this side is done-for, so the Europeans have a good time of it.

Yeh its hellish that he didn't cope with his broken back better.

Honestly at 22,000+ posts one might have thought you might be more supportive. Oh well I suppose if much of it is made up posting stuff like the above they soon add up.

For the record he has little to prove to anyone who counts. That is why he plays 2nd line for one of the best teams in the NHL.
