I really think Manny is just filling a spot so lines can practise. The Canucks are down a few people and in order to run full lines at practise it is not uncommon for even assistant coaches to dress. It's a win - win - Manny gets to feel like he is still part of the team without putting him in harms way and the canucks have a live body on a line so they can keep lines together as much as possible in pratice ..... Take a deep breath folks ..... He is just pitching in I would bet

I would like to see:

Sedin - Sedin - Kassian
Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen
Booth - Burrows - Higgins
Volpatti - Lapierre - Weise

I think these are the best lines possible, looks good. Lets hope AV is trolling the boards lol :D

why on earth would they play Kesler with a broken bone in his foot? If this report is true then they have officially lost their minds.

If Manny ever plays again 1) I will have the utmost respect for Manny. Great person and 2) I will have 0 respect for MG. Shutting down a player as a roster move.

That seems to be one of the great debates amongst Canucks. I think the Canucks where generous in allowing Manny to prove himself this year,if it was me I would have pulled the plug before the season started. They gave him a chance and he had all lockout to make a difference. If he is still lacking no amount of time was going to get him back to snuff.

At the start of the season Manny was quoted something along the lines of them having to drag him away kicking and screaming.
If MG had come to a agreement to give him 10 games to prove himself,I think the comment was a little slick.
If your a big Manny fan he has next year to try,but this year he gets paid and can actually spend more time rehabbing that eye.
I think its a smart move all around.

Impossible... if this happens, even as a Canucks fan I would argue that we should be fined for cap circumvention and/or faking injuries for roster management.

I think Manny is just trying to help out by changing the story lines a little from all the bad news.

Just look at Keslers history and then ask that again. The guy doesnt listen to his body and allow himself the time to actually heal.
He hides injuries and comes back to soon. He is driven to the extent he will harm himself to get the job done. Reminds me of Steve Yzerman in the playoffs, limping around on one leg. Some of these guys would rather give it all.

what he said.

Kesler did the same damn thing last year. Played while not fully recovered.

Kesler probably didn't disclose the injury to anyone! why is he doing this!

You see kids! this is what happens when you play injured.! you slow the team down. Despite a positive 5 points in 7 games, it still slows the team down. Please come back when your a 100% Ryan. Crap sakes.

quite possibly, he also didn't disclose it to the medical staff too.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

Maybe because he rushed back because of Vigneault and his own thick-headedness

"Rushed back"? And how is Vigneault to blame for his poor play? You're a joke.

Cool ad hominem. Vigneault is notorious for saying a player is good to go when he isn't. Kealer is notorious for trying to play through injuries.

??????

Ummm, rushing a wrist injury wouldn't generally cause a broken bone in your foot.  I am no Dr. Recchi, but I don't see the connection.

The wrist bone is connected to the foot bone..heard it in a song a long time ago.

I never could understand why the two always made comments to the media in complete opposite. I get Kesler playing with the media but that hasnt always been the case. Wish they clean up the organization a bit and show a more unified front.

Mikey Five Hole was Vernon's nickname.

I just can't figure out if it's Mike Vernon or a rookie Osgood.

I guess the question is is Kesler really dumb enough to play through a broken bone in his foot half 8 weeks before playoffs start? Perhaps he didn't realize and they just found out today. Regardless, this is becoming a hot mess and fast.

Hasn't Manny still been practicing with the team throughout this? I could have sworn I saw him in a highlight package skating with the team after he was placed on IR.

I think he has but he was wearing a no contact type jersey before. I'm guessing he's skating with the full line up for pratice purposes only tell they are able to determine if Kesler is good to go or they need an injury replacement.

Time to make a trade or t the very least sign Arnott. We clearly can't rely on Kesler staying healthy for the playoffs.

Your move Gillis.
