AV said it wasn't anything serious, so maybe management is gonna let Barker ride the pine for the rest of the season and go with this until Bieksa and Tanev are back

Hamhuis - Garrison
Edler - Corrado
Ballard - Alberts

Not lookin' to bad

I disagree with the pairings. A shaky edler with a rookie with no experience? No thank you.

Hamhuis Corrado
Garrison Ballard
Edler Alberts

He can't be any worse than Barker. Hopefully he'll turn up to be like Tanev a couple of years ago in the playoffs

DO NOT PUT THE PRESSURE OF THE WORLD ON THIS KID'S SHOULDERS
DON'T RUIN HIM WITH YOUR GOD DAMN COMPLAINING
I DON'T WANT TO SEE A THREAD ABOUT HOW BAD HE IS IF HE MAKES ONE DAMN MISTAKE

I find it so amusing you actually think anything you or anyone on this board says actually effects anyone or anything related to the Canucks. Get a clue.

Not sure why Vandermeer wasn't brought up. 2 huge playoff-like games, I'd rather have the NHL veteran than the rookie in my lineup. Good luck kid.

Hopefully Ballard isn't out too long. Bieksa, Tanev and Ballard all injured, here's our defence that has to go up against 3 of the best offences in the league in Chicago, Anaheim and Edmonton:

Hamhuis - Garrison
Edler - Alberts
Barker - Corrado
Vandermeer

Right handed shot.

Seeing as our D crumbles when we have guys playing on their off side, it makes sense to try Corrado out in some reasonably meaningless games so we know what we have in case of playoff attrition.

Be nice to see a possible 2013-2014 D corps lineup in a few weeks if Ballard isn't okay.

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Garrison-Tanev
Edler-Corrado

(Obviously Eddie gets additional time on PP+PK)

If he plays really well, maybe we will have a set top 6 next year.

I like this move.

However I would also keep Barker in the line up. Reason being if we are only giving Corrado a taste then I don't like the idea of Barker being benched when he so obviously needs games to get him up to speed. PLAY THEM BOTH.

My pairing suggestions:

Edler-Alberts
Hamhuis-Corrado
Barker-Garrison

Play Edler and Garrison together as well so Barker and Alberts play less.
Hamhuis can hopefully provide a steady veteran presence and calm any nerves Corrado might have,

What? Any kid out of junior should be able to step into top 4 minutes! If he cannot then trade him! Especially when paired with a defensive stalwart like Edler.

I can't wait to see him play and Have Schroeder replace Ebbet.

Schroeder replacing Ebbet? Replacing small with small? That's not very reassuring with the play offs around the corner. These two players are just too small. Ebbet had great effort last night but he's just too small. They have to play like Roy to be successful and they're no Roy. There is a difference, Roy is stockier , more driven and just a better skater.
My concern with Corrado isn't Corrado it's if AV will use him or even use him right.

It's replacing small plug with small playmaker who's made his linemates better earlier in the season.

Frank was a teenager three weeks ago with two pro games of AHL experience.

Where was the braintrust on trade day when it came to adding a veteran right handed d man?

That right handed Sami Salo veteran guy would look good here right now.

Schroeder's the exact same size as Roy, and is probably just as good at skating.

People complain about our offense, but then don't want Schroeder in the lineup? He's an elite play maker that would turn our third line into an actual threat. Right now our third line is having zero impact.

They need to try something, cause the way the offense is going right now, it's not gonna be enough to win games in the playoffs.

Schroeder has 33 AHL points over 42 games played while Ebbett has 32 AHL points over 35 AHL games played.
They are tied in assists with Ebbett playing 15% fewer games.

And how much older is Ebbett? And what has he done in the NHL other than getting steam-rolled every game?

Me like.

Let's see what the kid brings to the table. Short-term energy, at least. Same with another Schroeder call-up.

Really? You haven't learned your lesson that AHL points mean nothing?

If you wanna look at AHL stats, at least get them right. Ebbett had 32 points in 37 games, not 35.

And Schroeder has put up 10 points in his last 9 games since returning to the AHL, and has only gone two games without registering a point. That's consistency. Something Ebbett has never had.

Ebbett provides nothing to our third line. At least that line was a threat when Schroeder was on it.

were in the playoffs so its the right thing to do. If the is an outside possibility he could be an injury call up in a playoff run he should play a regular season game or 2 first. I like it. I'm sure hes not ready but that doesn't matter it will be good experience for a guy who is one of the few bright spots in our prospect pool.

Yeah, why would the team want a veteran that plays PK minutes and all three forward positions?

Ballard apparently tweaked his back. Not sure if these 2 things are connected or not.

Not as much as the Wolves losing last night to Milwaukee and being officially ruled out of making the playoffs.

And the Scott Deadly guy is just a good friend of his, not his agent, from what I understand. It sounds like the Canucks called him last night so he could have everything ready in case they do bring him up this morning.

We'll see a few call ups now that the Wolves aren't going to the postseason though. Our affiliation with them is done after tonight's game (last AHL regular season game for the Wolves this year) so perhaps they bring them up then, although there's no reason to keep our prospects down there when they haven't been a big part of the lineup anyway. Once roster concerns are no longer an issue, we'll see a bunch come up to get the NHL experience. The rest can start their summer.
