Antti Niemi thinks we were lucky 2 years ago...

I'm sorry, there were maybe 2 lucky goals that entire series. The Canucks absolutely dominated the Sharks on the powerplay - the Sedins and Salo slapped their PK and Niemi around like a rag-doll, and Luongo stool on his head. That was the difference - special teams and goaltending.

If anything, Niemi got lucky 3 years ago when he won the Cup. Posted a 2.6-something GAA in the playoffs, got ventilated some nights but had the most stacked team in front of him in the cap-illegitimate Blackhawks scoring 5 a night in front of him. He was clutch at times, lucky at others.

We won because lu was stellar (people forget that), are pp was on fire, we had some luck, and the Jose was really banged up. This latter issue was huge, they were not healthy.

But that was two years ago and these are different teams. Jose and nucks are even in the been to the battles. Will come down to the team that can play just a bit better.

he probably meant the OT goal and a few others, but otherwise we scored a ton against them...You need luck in the playoffs and we can say Antti Niemi just went along for the ride with the hawks in 2010 because lets get real, they were a stacked team all around

Every team gets a few lucky goals, we definitely did get some lucky ones especially the series winner. But the Canucks outplayed the Sharks pretty heavily in that series, even with no luck we still probably would have won.

no no, actually we were lucky. I wouldn't say the tying goal was lucky, that was sheer determination. But the Bieksa overtime winner was a fluke goal. But guess what. You have to be lucky to make it to the finals.

Game 3, Bruins were lucky Edler broke his stick at the start of the 2nd period. Had he didn't f in break his stick that first goal would have not been scored and the outcome of that game would be different.

But really..... Henrik notched 11 points against them. What ever happened to putting the past behind them? Our players do that all the time.

I have to admit that was the only series in the last several years that I thought the Canucks did get lucky in. They were totally outplayed in that game with the 5 on 3's but they happened to score on them and all but ended the series there. Then the Bieksa goal to end it was unbelievable. SJ played well at home and had they won game 5(which they easily could have) there is a good chance they would have won game 6.

As opposed to the first 2 Chicago series' where the Canucks could have easily been up 3-1 in both of them but some 3rd period bad luck/blunders just killed them. Then there was that King's series Vancouver won but LA scored at will on their PP, that was sickening.
