Spezza is a year older, plays a 1 way game, has a 7 mil cap hit and has one year before he is a UFA. He is a 1 year rental.

Kesler is a year younger, plays one of the best 2 way games in the league, has a 5mil contract and is signed for 2 more years. Its not as close as the Ducks or others trying to drive the prices down think it is.

I never said Spezza was the better player but inferred he could/should come at a cheaper price.

Hardly an aurgument to my original post "Absent Canuck".

So are you saying Anaheim isn't considering Spezza then?

Are you saying that getting the 10th pick is a slam dunk, which is what I'm clearly arguing?

Picked Nylander and Virtanen. Really want Nylander.

If Virtanen is gone pretty happy with Fleury. Doubt Richie is avail at ten.

My mock draft has Virtanen and Ritchie ranked 12 and 13. I'm starting to think if we got that pick at 10th overall one if not both might be available! That would be a mighty fine draft.

I outlined the differences between the two players. They are not close in value to the Ducks.

I dont think the Ducks are seriously considering him. He would have to come considerably cheaper for a rental like that.

Spezza is a first line center. The Ducks already have a good first line center named Getzlaff . Their situation is designed to fit around a two way second liner who can bring more in all areas. A team that needs a true first line center is the St Louis Blues. I think he would be a better fit than Kesler there.

You still missed his point. A thread in canucks talk about the 10th overall is pretty silly. Especially the op saying it's a strong possibility.

Just wait until Elvis gets here and tells you just how redundant your thread is.

I'll do it for him!
