Haven't they ruined Transformers enough already and children's great memories of it. Cash cow much. The last one was with Mark Wahlberg was the worst.

A Hasbro executive was the keynote speaker at the MIP Junior Conference 2015 (via TFW2005) and during the Q&A session he revealed that the Transformers writers room came up with enough material that he can confidently confirm four more Transformers sequels are on the way.

"You're going to see a new Transformers movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners," Stephen J. Davis, President of Hasbro Studios and Entertainment and Licensing for Hasbro, told the audience at MIPJunior 2015. "In fact, we just finished -- as some of you may have read -- an incredible experience. We decided we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise, so we got together in a 3 month period of time...nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with -- shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for A Beautiful Mind, and written a bunch of great movies. And they plotted out the next ten years of Transformers. Similarly we are doing the same in television and digital. So stay tuned Transformers 5 is on its way. ...And 6 and 7 and 8."

The Transformers writers room included Steve DeKnight (Daredevil), Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Hibernation), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand), Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Lindsey Beer (How To Nail An Alien) and Christina Hodson (Unforgettable).

Transformers 5 will be directed by Michael Bay (The Rock), based on a script written by Akiva Goldsman. Mark Wahlberg (Ted) will reprise his Cade Yeager role from Age of Extinction for a second adventure with the Robots in Disguise.

Hasn't Transformers been dead since the second film came out? Just let it die guys. The first movie was a fluke.

By all accounts Transformers: Age of Extinction should have been considered a box-office disappointment and that could have had Paramount or Hasbro either reboot, shelve (then reboot after 5 years), or at least hire a new director for the franchise.

Age of Extinction's domestic box-office was only $250 Million similar numbers to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (and we all know how that turned out). Problem is the movie also made $300 Million+ in China which made up for the disappointing box-office in the US.

So yeah US audiences were already sick and tired of Michael Bay and his Transformers which could have signaled some sort of change but China bailed him out.

So yeah thanks for nothing China

God awful movies, they all sucked. I used to love the cartoons when I was a kid. So disappointing...

Agreed, Shia Lagoof ruined them for me. He was such a bumbling annoying character It was almost as disappointing as the original cartoon movie when they killed off 95% of the original characters in the first 10 minutes of the movie

Not at all. Each of the movies costs about 200 million to make. The first two grossed 700-900 million. The last two made about 1.1 billion.

The fourth one made 250 million domestically, but the first only made 320. So you see a slight domestic fall but a huge international response.

It's a license to print money. Also keep in mind you have the other sources of profit like toys

It's not their box offices I was referring to, but by all accounts 4 is very close to a box office bomb. I meant that there hasn't actually been a decent movie since the first. 2, 3, and 4 were all horrible movies. Not even a new cast helped, which is saying a lot.
