We wish Brendan the best of luck in Toronto, he will get the opportunity to play in the post season and hopefully embark on a long playoff run with the Leafs. We are very excited with the pieces we were able to bring in. Michael Rasmussen is a guy we coveted, and although his rookie season isn't as good as he probably hoped, he's still 19 years old and has a long long future ahead of him. He was a top 10 pick by the Wings for a reason, and more points should come with more confidence. Kaapo Kahkonen is a goalie prospect we really like, an AHL allstar at the age of 22 in his rookie season in North America. May get a chance with the Wild sooner rather than later, but for now, a lottery ticket we will wait to see if we hit the jackpot. Vegas now owns 3 1sts, 3 2nds, and 3 3rds in the upcoming entry draft. It is very exciting for the future of our organization, however with currently 19 unsigned prospects, I think it may be highly unlikely that we end up picking 9 times in the first 3 rounds. Look for Vegas to potentially explore trade ups using the draft currency. Cody McLeod will be made available at 50% retention, for a draft pick. At 1.15M, would only end up having a 0.100M cap penalty if a team chose to keep him in the minors (which can be done as that is where he currently sits), and can be brought up immediately, or brought up for a playoff run seeing as he's apart of the Predators now. The likeliness of Schultz being moved is fairly low, but something could transpire. Eric Fehr is available for a 2019 or 2020 5th. Willing to place condition(s) on a deal, PM me if interested. Potential playoff player. Other than that, the Flames are done heading into the deadline, with our two biggest fish off the market in Roman Josi and Wayne Simmonds.
