      So we get 2 young dmen (with potential) that won’t be of great use to us for a couple of years and an un-drafted, underachieving 26 LW. Are we rebuilding again? Who will replace Miller’s production? Would the Rangers want/need Miller back? So many questions so little time...

      No, it is a loss of potential assets from trade. If the player leaves in UFA you get no return.

      8 decades ago brings us to 1940, the 2nd year of WW2. Fuel was important for the war effort but in no way was the world at the point of oil dependency on an economic scale. I think the real beginnings can be traced to the 'fuel shortages' of the 70's, though oil was plentiful at that time. Just my opinion from personal memory, no research done.
