  1. He's a similar build to Smyl in his playing days. 5'10 - 190 lbs. Steamer seemed to do alright. It's all in the mindset, determination. Let's hope this kid has it too. I didn't see any of the games, but based on people here who were watching, he was Abby's best player, and some were saying "too good for the AHL", or something to that affect.
  2. Plus the fact, it is his contract year. He's playing for his next payday.
  3. Yzerman is giving Chiarelli, Benning and Milbury a run for their money! Haha!
  4. Like you say, time will tell. But what's the real reason why they let him go?
  5. Exactly. I wasn't sure, but it looks like this year, he'll have to pass through waivers and clearly he'd get claimed. I wasn't sure if he had one more year, but unfortunately, he doesn't. He's a sparkplug. He should be more than fine.
  6. I also believe he was a few games short of being waiver exempt. Not sure if he can be waived this year or not.
  7. Even with the change in your proposal, it's still a no. You're essentially trading a 1st and a 2nd to get rid of Myers. Let's hang onto those picks and trade the giraffe at the TDL, instead.
  8. Sorry, but this is just a horrible proposal. Hard core pass.
  9. As far as Bo, yes, I agree. He should have been max, $7 mil. But that's it. And yeah, Nylander will try to get as much as possible. Let some other sucker pay.
  10. I agree Nylander isnt a $10 mil a year guy. But Horvat isn't an $8.5 mil a year guy, so where do you think these guys fit in?
  11. Petey 2019-2020 playoffs - 18 pts in 17 gp. No need to be leery of paying Petey market value.
  12. It's too early to tell. But based on his first game last year, the guy is rock-solid. Plus, it is his RFA year. As long as he's healthy, more than likely he's going play lights out.
  13. That was a strange draft too. Montreal took Kotkeniemi, Arizona Hayton, then Detroit thankfully took Zadina. It's amazing how Quinn Hughes stacks up point-wise against Dahlin, Svechnikov, and Brady Tkachuk. He leads that draft class in ppg.
  14. Filling the nets with empty threats. Haha!
  15. Tocchet never turned the other cheek. Let's hope that has a profound affect on the team.
  16. Plus they have Svechnikov returning, who didn't even play in the playoffs.
  17. That's what I keep saying. Ain't it peculiar how most players step it up during contract years?
  18. This pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. And he would definitely want term and dollars. He's not worth it. He's not a difference maker. Don't want to go through that again, unless it's someone who's actually earning their contract, like Hughes, Petey, Miller, etc, for example.
  19. I agree. Based off of the limited highlights I've seen, this guy's skating ability alone, and creating offense, clearly outshines Hamhuis, who was a great, solid D.
  20. Not sure what they've going to do, but to overpay with too much term shouldn't even be a consideration. Let's hope not. That's why we were in cap hell to begin with.
