  1. Not a bad Proposal at all. Id rather see what a Boeser trade would fetch with regards to RD players/ prospects. With Petey looking more like a 1st line winger, 2nd line centre and the evolution of Podz I could see moving a RD like Boeser. Hate it because I love the guys character but Cap crunch is real
  2. Currently yes, but thats easily remedied for most teams. Im just saying being cap compliant doesn't make one a good enough team to win a cup
  3. @PunjabiCanucks If we make no player changes as you suggest and merely remain Cap compliant will we win a cup? I understand and appreciate what your saying, but keeping status quo in my opinion wont lead to a cup. Your better off selling high on assets and continuously improving your young core pieces while stockpiling your draft/prospect system. Prime example is Tampa. We may be cap complaint going forward, but that doesn't make us better.
  4. Wonder if you could swing Myers (25%retained) + Lockwood for Puljujarvi+Ceci.

Saves Edmonton money. Gives us an equally good slightly younger defensemen and a middle six winger.

I just think we are already are one of the best teams in the league on the wing. Somehow we need to improve the defence and subtract to add doesn’t help unless we are getting some big shot. Tough to do but hopefully they figure something out. A trade like this could works if we had a secondary trade in place to move out a winger and bring in another RH defencemen

I wouldn't say it's subtracting to add help; Myers costs 2x of what Ceci does, so in essence you're getting Myers for half price by getting Ceci, then if/ when Poolparty's value improves (e.g. if they put him on PP 1 and he starts scoring) then we could flip his $3 million contract to address defensive needs (with injuries, inevitably some team will want a winger, either Miller or Poolparty or someone else, and we'd have a prime asset to flip for that RD from a desperate team e.g. if the Islanders don't land Kadri and still have scoring issues, we could flip Poolparty say for Mayfield).

I'd drive management to the airport if they were stupid enough to retain salary for more than one season.

  5. People can complain all they want lol Still got my answer
  6. Without moving some major money out in Larsson or Myers (and even if one is moved) it will be hard to fit these three within the cap. In my opinion one of Miller, Boeser or Horvat will need to be moved in order to stay cap compliant. Add in Pettersson raise etc. money gets even tighter.
  7. Now, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound power forward who is committed to play college hockey at Clarkson, Gardner has instantly been a big-time difference-maker for the Warriors. On Thursday night in East Grand Forks, Gardner scored two goals and set up two more as the Warriors beat the Green Wave 6-3 in a rematch of the last three Section 8A boys championships. "He moves so well for being a big guy," Warroad coach Jay Hardwick said. "He's tough to handle. When he comes down at full speed, it's pretty scary. I think when he gets going, he's tough to stop."
  8. Would be hard to fit his cap hit this year. Plus your competing with a lot of other teams who'd love malkin
  9. Not a chance for me. Hogz had a slower sophomore year. Would be hard to replace his compete and offensive talent
  10. Everyone out hear trying to trade Rathbone for pretty much nothing. How about we give the kid some NHL games before saying he's too small or poor defensively. How many of you have actually watched him instead of just looking at his stats/ height weight metrics?

new management group.  They might not be as high on the Benning guys.  We could see several Benning guys traded.  Dipietro, Woo, and Bone could all go as sweetener in deals.

@Alflives I am concerned if new management groups want to clear out old inventory, in an attempt of some sorts to get rid of the remnants of the old regime.

There's nothing wrong with Dipietro, Woo, and Bones. They're all prospects, except maybe Bones, who's as close to show time as anyone else.

I hope he gets a bunch of games and does really well so we can trade him for a better return and fill his spot with a defensive defenseman.

  11. Agreed, he' wont develop into the player they hoped he would so take the second and either trade up in the 1st and take another swing. His trade value is likely a third at best so why not recoup a 2nd
  12. Savoie and then Lamoureux or Fisher in the third round if they're there.
  13. The D core isn't a quick fix. Ideally we build up some prospects and fill the position internally. Boeser definitely has value, saying he doesn't is ridiculous. I thought Myers played well this year, that said he is heavily overpaid because of his past offensive production and id rather pay that sort of money elsewhere and fill the spot with guys like Schenn who play physical and solid defensively. Poolman has the potential to step up next year and his contract makes hime somewhat un-tradeable so Id keep him as a #6 guy. Another true top 4 RD is needed but we dont have the cap or trade pieces to get one thats ready right now, which is why we need to trade for quality prospects using our slight excess of top 9 wingers.
  14. Hogz-Pettersson-Podz Miller-Horvat-Garland Pearson-Dickinson-Karlsson/UFA Highmore-Lammikko-Lockwood Hughes-Schenn Larsson-Dermott Rathbone-Poolman Boeser for Turcotte and Faber. Myers for 2nd Boeser and Myers traded to free up cap room and gain valuable assets. Wouldn't say no to Pearson or Dickinson trades but doubt there are trade options that don't cost us. Doesnt make sense to buy them out at this point so Id play them for now or waive them.
  15. How about Boeser straight up for Clarke? Id consider it but would want a touch more ideally

NYR Just beat some seriously crucial teams in the last week without making major moves.  Odds are they don't do much and run with what they have.

Really big!  We got a 4th round draft pick!  Plan the parade!

  17. I think he's just giving him the young player treatment. Not just gifting him time. making him work for it
  18. Hogs? I love this kid... Hes in a sophmore slump, I would not give up on him right now
  19. Could be just a trade to get depth but interesting. Could mean one of their younger RD gets moved
  20. Call him up. Give him Mottes spot and see what he can do. Love his compete
