  1. KG with an assist today. Doubles his season points total and it's only the second period, so expect those numbers to explode !
  2. Yes. Pretty good for a while. Has sagged a bit of late, so he'll be tied to the whipping post soon enough !
  3. Good to see MDZ back. The CDCers who have needed a 'whipping boy' have been a rudderless boat since Markstrom and Eriksson have been playing better.
  4. Wednesday, January 9 – Utica Comets at Toronto Marlies, 7 ET on TSN2
  5. Sorry if I missed this........any time set for his MRI/ results ?
  6. .......or else demand a 6th round pick to make the deal happen ! ( just throwing out 'what ifs' here. I don't disagree with your thoughts ! )
  7. Are you talking about the same TMLs who lost 2 goalies to waivers ?
  8. I think that the 28% refers to players who play 100 games plus. ( ? ) Did a quick one decade average ( 2000-2009 ), 63% of 2nd rounders played one game or more !
  9. When he 'rushed' the puck it was not poetry in motion, but was a lot of fun to watch. When he cleared the front of the net it was sublime. When ( not often ) he got mad, anything could happen. His size exaggerated everything, especially with that under sized helmet perched on the top of his very big head ! Loved him on the ice !
  10. After EP40, the one single player who would put my ample bum in a Rogers Arena seat, is Tryamkin ! All the other 'noise' about why he is not here is unproven pulp. Who cares !
  11. Free agency occurs when he turns 27, I believe, so a long wait ! ( he's 24 now )
  12. The eye test certainly says he's better, but....... 2017-18 Vancouver Canucks NHL 60 3 4 3414 154 0 2 2.71 23 26 7 1591 0.912 2018-19 Vancouver Canucks NHL 29 1 0 1754 82 0 0 2.80 16 10 3 827 0.910
  13. ^^^^.....nice pass from #44 Perreault. 16 year old with 30 points in 30 games !
  14. Well, Manukyan was scratched, so no eye to knee stuff with Tryamkin. Manukyan's season seems to be sliding slowly downhill. He's still listed as 139 lbs. Think ( if that is close to being true ) that he must be worn down. Pretty hard to overcome the size issue !
  15. 26/12/18..........potential David vs Goliath today as Munukyan goes up against Tryamkin. Would be interesting if fists started to fly !!
  16. That whole first line are all late '17 picks !
  17. Although it might be a moot point ( moo point ? ), sadly it will never be a mute point. We will hear about this and any other player that was passed by in the draft as long as Capt Hindsight gives out free goggles ! The fact that Virtanen is muting some of the DimJim crowd means that Ollie now has to bare the load. If he starts to do well at the NHL level, some as yet undrafted first rounder, will take over.
  18. As a Gaunce fan, I like reading positive stuff about him, but in the clip mentioned, he is going roughly the same speed as Archibald, so probably too soon to label him Bure 2.0 ! I think SID is closer to reality. If he does come back up, I would like to see a longer look at centre, rather than lw.
  19. Okay......should have put an '*' next to one point away from a playoff spot ! Doesn't really change the fact that going into post season play without Edler (..or Tanev, or Sutter ) would put us in a tough spot. All of this chatter about draft picks for Edler/ Tanev/ Sutter goes away if we are close to a playoff spot leading up to the TDL. At the moment, we are one point* away from a playoff spot. In the week before TDL the picture will be much clearer ( obviously ).
  20. I'm sure Nonis did some good stuff, but TDL 2006 was a disaster. 2x 2nd, 1x 3rd and 1x 4th traded away for zilch. Who knows what pressure he was getting from ownership and why he didn't try to re-sign Jovo. If JB pulled a move like this, he would be thrown out of town !
  21. I don't recall the Jovo story. Looked up the season and notice we were 3 points behind Edmonton for that 8th spot in the West. Probably too close to be moving a top dman at the TDL. Also notice that both Jovo and Salo had reduced games that year. If one or both were injured at the TDL, it would have made it even harder, for us, to trade Jovo. I notice, too, that that was Baumgartner's big year. Pretty hard to put your prime minutes on NB. He was kind of soft, if I remember correctly. Did the 'nucks try to re-sign Jovo ? I don't recall !
  22. We're one point out of the playoffs !! Can you imagine going into the post season with [ Brisebois, McEneny, 'other'] instead of Edler. I like our AHL guys, but they cannot replace 22min of playing against other teams' top lines. Really, take off the 'shiny toy' goggles and join reality. If we're anywhere near a playoff spot, Edler stays. The armchair gm folk have us losing Edler, Tanev and Sutter ! (.....insert primal scream here !! )
  23. AM scored his 4th ( 20/12 ). First in quite awhile. Had less than 6 min of ice time, appears to be on the 4th line. (.....may have # of goals incorrect )
  24. Thurs 20th......PP playing his first game this season for TPS ( vs Karpat ). Looks like he's on the 2nd line. Has one assist so far.
  25. 3 out of a possible 4 points on the road in Charlotte bodes well for Utica. Charlotte has the 2nd best winning % in the AHL. (...best in the East ! )
