  1. If we end up with a top ten pick, I wonder if they would consider packaging that pick with Quinn Hughes and several other pieces to try and land Bedard? I would hate to see Hughes go (I literally cried tears of joy when we drafted him lol) but we need this local phenom in Bedard (and self proclaimed Canuck fun) to be a Canuck for life.
  2. He almost just scored… on himself lol
  3. Wow the Swiss really outshot the Fins (27-16) in a 3-2 overtime win. Aku let in three goals in 27 shots; not bad at all. From watching the highlights, it looked like you couldn’t blame him on any of the goals. The OT goal tipped once, maybe even twice through traffic. This goalie might just be a gem. I’ve always wanted a deadly Fin goalie on our team
  4. That gun post was hilarious lol! That poster has a point though, we’re sitting in purgatory right now; not good enough to for the playoffs and not bad enough to get Bedard. Jim needs to pull the trigger on a trade (pun intended lol).
  5. My take on the game; Stillman is still awful. Hughes is an absolute magician at holding the line. Petey does so many sneaky good things. Demko looks mentally fragile. Horvat when he scores can look like one of the meanest SOBs in NHL. I love it lol With Boeser being nearly a point per game at the moment, there’s gotta be some team out there that’ll give us a decent RHD prospect for him.
  6. I really hope he gets that 600th win before he gets canned though. It would be so brutal for him to possibly not get another gig and remain stuck at 599 lol
  7. Outshot 15-3 in the third. We entirely lack killer instinct. At least Miller is building his value back up with those two goals. Maybe we can get some value for him this trade deadline.
  8. With the hometown phenom Bedard sitting there, I’m finding myself tempted to root for that lol. But as we all know, we’ll find ourselves in the middle of the pack… in no man’s land where we’ve been for so much of the history of this franchise.
  9. He was so insanely spun around on that last goal. It felt like it lasted forever with his back to the play lol
  10. The saddest part about this game tonight was that Boeser was actually brining it. He clearly did put in a solid effort almost every shift, but he’s just too slow, and his once potent shot has clearly been hampered by numerous hand and wrist injuries. Man I miss watching Boeser’s shot, or at least trying to watch it in regular time but it was so deadly fast that you could only really see it in slow-mo. He’s still relatively young, but I’m afraid that due to injuries his best days are behind him.
  11. That’s a solid group of forwards. I love Hughes, OEL and Schenn, but man does our back end need some help if we want to make the playoffs and hopefully go on a bit of a run. I would be lying if I said that I’m not a bit bummed to come out of the offseason without any notable changes to the d corps when that was clearly our biggest weakness going into it. I’m loving the additions to the forward group though.
  12. I really miss the old goal song, “Vamonos, vamonos! Oi, oi, oi, oi!” I spilled many o’ brews in Rogers Arena (then GM Place) while cheering to that song lol
  13. This makes so much sense now. Having mono has had a profound negative impact on so many young players throughout the years. And watching Lekkerimaki in the world juniors this year compared to the U18’s just a few months prior, there was a noticeable difference in his gameplay that went beyond just the increased level of competition. I’m honestly very relieved to hear he had mono lol.
  14. Hoglander is sooo good! I think even if he finds himself in Abby, he’ll be back with the big club in no time.
  15. That’s awesome! Happy birthday little one! I’ve got a 6 and a 4 year, and missed the game because I had solid beach day with both my little mermaids today I can’t wait to watch highlights on this one. So pumped for Klimovich! From what I’ve seen of him, another little thing that I really like about him is that he looks deceptively quick with his dekes and pivots too.
  16. I’m seeing a lot of Hoglander on the fourth line on here, but I’m not too sure about that. He had a stellar rookie year and, like so many others before him, had a sophomore slump. I wouldn’t be surprised if he bounces back with a vengeance this year. The kid is tenacious and skilled. Having said that, if our top nine are playing well enough to keep Hogz on the fourth line, then that’s a pretty solid problem to have
  17. The last Canuck game I went to was on Sedin night, February 2020, right before the pandemic. I wanted to buy a Miller jersey then but I was hesitant because the last jersey I bought was a Hodgson jersey one month before he got traded. I was afraid we wouldn’t be able to re-sign Miller a couple years down the road and I’d have another obsolete jersey. Now I can finally buy that Miller jersey that I’ve always wanted! Lol!
  18. This is a very fair deal for both sides IMO. And this is going to look like a hell of deal for the Canucks a few years down the road when the cap raises, and players scoring 99 points sign contracts almost twice as much as this.
  19. It’s so nice to hear someone say this on here. I’ve been thinking the exact same thoughts for a while now.
  20. Oh man, if we could pry Dobson out of NYI that would be amazing! I don’t know if I’m reading this right, but it sounds like Ben Kuzma is also suggesting that NYI might also have to add additional pieces, such as a prospect and a first. I would gladly do a one for one, Miller for Dobson. Here’s the quote I was referring to from the province: “Adding a 99-point dynamo in Miller, 29, at a projected $8 million annually in a lengthy extension, is the cost of doing business to get anywhere in the tough Metropolitan Division. Dealing Dobson to the Canucks would ease some financial burden by also parting with a roster forward or top prospect, plus a 2023 first-round pick.“
  21. Part of me is kind of concerned that because they’ve assembled such a large management team that they simply cannot easily react, or act, or pivot if needs be. I hope I’m wrong, and I probably am.
  22. The patience of our management is killing me! I don’t have patience for this crap lol!
