I feel like the team is moving in the right direction but it just keeps getting held back little by little by incompetent management. I love the Canucks but this management team has made me care less and less with constant stupid moves.

@smithers joe I can guarantee I could have done a better job than Benning up to this point, that’s how bad he’s done imo.

Why can we not place Ferland on LTIR right now? He basically confirmed he will never play again but he will be on IR till the start of the season? That extra 3.5mill would be great on cap savings

I think Benning has been an awful GM but there’s no denying he had a great FA day. Aside from Poolman who somehow got 4 years I really don’t see any contracts coming back to haunt the Canucks like previous years. This does not absolve JB of all of his past blunders but even the JB haters like me can’t complain too much about yesterday. Here’s hoping Canucks are competing for a playoff spot next season. Go Canucks Go!

@Jimmy McGill I don’t think he will be a bust, I just feel like his contract is too long considering his age. And if he is a bust that contract isn’t coming off the books for some time. It would be easier to stomach if it was 2 years imo. But I don’t hate it. It’s still pretty cheap

Trying not to be biased but Van-Bos was the nastiest most entertaining series in recent memory. It was a literal war and no other series has been able to come close to that. Finals haven’t been all that great the last few years. One team clearly better than the other so the entertainment hasn’t been there

Ok, the Canucks miss the playoffs. Struggled this season. Had more adversity thrown at them than we'd like. Yes management and coaching made some head scratching moves. But an injured Petey. Lack of depth down the middle. A re-jigged, patchwork defence. And the horrid start is what killed this season.

Can someone please explain to me why Benning gets all the heat but Green gets a free pass despite having a record similar to Willie Desjardins while he was here?

Half our roster is still garbage. Green isn’t a world class coach but Benning is far more to blame with assembling this team than Green getting the most out of everybody. And maybe, just maybe, he is getting everything he can out of this team and we’re still just not very good? We downgraded in the off-season so it makes sense that we’re not as good as last year. Clear house and get a competent GM
