      I guess it depends on the deal. But if Calgary is also retaining salary that addreses my concern. The other is CDC goes mental on 30+ aged players. It's amazing we cut slack for ex-Canucks.

    Does make me wonder if we’ll take a guy like Benson or Barlow at 11 if either are available. Both players don’t exactly address current needs but both have the best chance to come in and make an impact when we’d need them to.

    So, again, why were we one of the best teams in the NHL for a 50 game stretch with one of the winningest regular season coaches ever, who had the exact same roster that Green had?

    Again you’re ignoring the main points here. The highest pick we’ve had in that same time frame is 5th and they’ve had two first overalls and one second overall. We’d be in a much better situation if we had multiple top two picks.

    Except when the better coaches in this league can work with whatever they have. All Green’s "structure" was, was sit back and hope Markstrom or whoever was in net can bail us out. You can still see the stench this guy left with this team by the way they play.

    Besides the fact none of this makes sense for us where are you seeing this? Edit: I might do that Hanifin deal if he comes with an extension, but we cannot be giving eight year deals to guys like Barbashev, and he’s one of the guys I want.

      I'd rather look to take advantage of a team needing to move cap, Carolina wants to keep Pesce anyway. At least all Graves would cost is money.

    Go get Pesce, sign Graves and Robert Hägg in free agency Hughes - Pesce Graves - Hronek Hägg - Juulsen Brisebois, Burroughs I like Soucy but a guy like Hägg would be a better cheaper fit for the bottom pair. All of a sudden, the defense goes from a liability to a strength.

    I still think we keep Beau and trade Boeser and/or Garland. Beauvillier-Miller-Mikheyev is a very good second line.
