VGK has gotten progressively worse each year. They started at the top (SCF) with 109 pts, then the next year 93 pts, then 86, then 82 and so far have 74 this year. They'll probably miss the playoffs for the first time, and could be a bottom feeder in a couple of years. I am a fan of this.

Remember a James Neal of Pittsburg, who over 3 seasons, only Steven Stamkos and Alexander Ovenchkin were scoring at a better goal-per-game clip? Then at 25 years old he was traded. Can you imagine the uproar had that happened here? (Yet they won their cups after that)
Sometimes you gamble a guy is having a career year, or decide where and what may make you stronger in the end. With no cap a lot of issues are removed. Every team has tough decisions to make, and now we are one of them. Like high stakes poker, You wanna just win with just more than you started with, or risk to be the best?

Bure was a fun and exciting player to watch and i would be open to not retiring his jersey.

Yeah he scored lots of goals, but after 700 games and when you're only on for 40 more goals scored for than against you, kinda states the kinda player you were?

In the last 3 years: Miller ranks 8th amongst Centres in Points, 13th based on ppg. Ahead of Point, Tavares, Kopitar.....

I agree with what the other posters stated
It is only to energize the building and mood, you wouldn't play classical music or Amazing Grace to do that (The Lions used Krazy George and cheerleaders)
It use to be only a live organist at Canuck games and was entertaining
Hopefully the team is that on its own

I can't recall how we were to retain people with expiring contracts?
So was this team constructed to be better for this year only and with more let downs after we again would have lost people for nothing (especially if we had made the playoffs and old guard still in place)? Just up and groggy still wondering what the past plan would have been?

Why do we hate the Loser Leafs so much? We are talking about a history of Horton, Keon, Bond, Bauer, and the Big M. Sittler and Lanny, Gilmor, and Wendell. Yet, these Leafs are so easily hated. Is it “I pull my pants down” that’s hated?

Congrats to the NHL for the Blues win! If this was the Leafs with this many players/coaches in Covid protocol, they would have postponed the game, such a joke, Canucks were the way better team tonight again just like last game, very proud of this team given the circumstances

Currently, a .607 point percentage is the playoff line. We're at .484, so we'd need to win about the next 10 games straight to have that point percentage. We're not as close to the playoff line as many are making it out to be.
That said, as Gabby has said many times, it's about being consistent over the long haul. Don't worry about winning 10 straight, worry about winning 2 out of the next 3 games and keeping that going.
