Pettersson's slump is really easy to understand. He's not used to such a long and grueling schedule and playing with the best players in the world night in and night out. Other teams are more dialed in for the playoffs and are running a playbook on him. And he stopped looking for the shot late in the season opting to make the pass to Boeser in a very Henrok like fashion.

Demko isn't lights out right now. Gaudette Spent more time on the Canucks than in Utica. Sutner and Brescois are not even as good as Biega yet. And why is it that our European players don't seem to make it there? Every name that has been brought up are North American prospects, any Europeans we had, ended up getting shipped out or are playing in another league. Coincidence?

I hated the Lays Potato Chip eating clown era. I hated the guy when he was on the Rangers, then playing like a cheap artist against us in the SCF and taking what's rightfully ours away. Then coming to Vancouver to get a payday, taking Linden's C and I'm sure having a hand in getting him traded. Ruining three Canuck seasons only to return to New York and proceed to have a better season then any of his three years as a Canuck. I will forever be angry everytime I hear his name.

If Pettersson totally dried up then the Calder goes to Binnington but he is still producing assists so he hasn't exactly fallen off the map. If Petey doesn't get the Calder then the NHL is rigged against the Canucks.

I would protect Marky because he gives a better shot at the playoffs and if he is lost then we still have Dipietro or Thiesson to fall back on. If Marstrom gets claimed then that sets the Canucks back on having developed goalies for a few more years.

I'm starting to think EP and Boeser needs to get separated into different lines if EP is ever going to score again. His shot totals in games have decreased dramatically and when you watch the games, it is clear EP's number one option seems to be passing to Boeser regardless is he has a good shot or not. It's starting to be Henrikesq

That's why my first choice would to keep both, The only way he can develop is to ride the bench for a few years, if you throw a goalie into the number one spot before he is ready, you can absolutely kill his confidence and that is career threatening to a young goaltender. Let him ride the bench watch the games, figure out shooter tendencies by watching and learn the craft before taking te net full time. Most goalies had to ride the bench before they were great.

I think Marky has enough years on him to allow the Canucks to wait for Dipietro to mature. The problem with Demko is I don't really see any flashes of elite goaltending that everyone seems to say he is, he can be a servicable goaltender in the league but I don't see elite. Plus to me, in the short time he has been with the Canucks he's been a little injury prone lately.

Schneider was backup to Luongo for a few years before he kind of took over. I think Demko needs to do the same. I look at the goalie position differently than forwards or defenceman. If next year was going to be a tank year and miss the playoffs then trade Marky and give Demko the games, but if you want to try to get to the playoffs and you only get to keep one, then you gotta go for Marky.

I still think we should keep both. Keep Demko as a backup and let him ride the pine for a few years.

Two years is not out of the question, he would be a tempting dangle to an expansion team.
