i mean really

can this organization sink any lower?

now sexual misconduct allegations during the time they ran a women's team

that nonsense can happen unfortunately

but when it does, the nature of response becomes critically important

we do not have all the details yet

but seems very problematic when issues were buried for 10 years

and only now is being aired when 13 former players

had to step forward in unison

to demand some better relief/response to this issue

how can this be so??

i'll hold off making a final personal determination about this issue

and will no longer purchase any game tickets or attend any game

until this issue is better exposed and resolved

if this is as bad as it could be

i want nothing to do with this organization until it is sold

steve nash

get off the pot please

do something to address this publicly

this could hurt your legacy

you really have the most to lose from this

silence is acquiescence

response can be as simple as:

i became co-owner in 2012

this issue was not alive at that time

i was not made aware of this issue when i joined the team in an ownership capacity

now that i am aware, i can assure fans that will ensure it is fully dealt with

im just glad whitecaps are canceling there season tickets , nash does need to wake up and fix this problem, true or not ..or there wont be any fans left, and to be frank, if we lose the whitecaps organization, i wont lose sleep .

Teams is horrible year after year, and always excuses to why they didn win or score, and now this controversy  /shakes head

i think if i was famous

i would not want my name linked to an ownership group

that appears to be very toxic and inept

i'd want to distance myself from historical issues that were poorly handled

and also take present responsibility for such an issue that might still exist

since all current owners are responsible for what is going on right now

if he buries his head in the sand, says nothing, then he appears to be acquiescing

but that is just my view maybe ?

I think what most fans would hope for here is for Nash to buy out the rest of the owners (or at least buy a majority share) and then clean house, starting with Lenarduzzi.

We can dream....

Just hearing on 650 that the Whitecaps hired a coach who was a proven racist.  The guy resined his coaching job with a British club after throwing a banana at a black player.  Even though he resigned, it was proven fact he did that.  I read here also the Caps had a women’s coach that was let go after so many ex players said he was a pervert.  Plus, there was that boy player who was raped by two other players and (if not for the efforts of the victim’s mother) this incident would have been swept under the rug.  I think the Caos need to get a leader in place who cleans up the cesspool that appears to exist there.

This club is a gongshow on and off the field.

Player charged for domestic incidents

Player investigated for rape and involved in the mysterious death of an underage girl in his apartment

WFC2 Player suspended and charged for sexual assault

Residency players charged for sexual assault (on another player)

Allegations regarding women's coach

Academy coach left previous job amid allegations of racism (suspended later, and the 'caps stand by him)

This include many other allegations concerning additional players. Add on the litany of management and assets mistakes, general treatment of players, and it's obviously a systemic problem. Everyone named Lenarduzzi needs to be removed immediately, as does Anderson and Lewis.

Supporter groups are going to walk out again. Good on them.

I never thought the Whitecaps would become such an embarrassment, it's sad to see.

And yet we hear nothing from the ownership and leadership group of this franchise. Complete and utter joke. “Our All. Our Honor” slogan is comical.

Ownership is apparently meeting with the supporters today.

sweet

will the women who voiced complaints also be there

are they intending to present a specific plan on how to deal with their concerns?

it'd be nice to see positive steps towards some reconciliation

otherwise talk is cheap with this group

I haven't really been following this story all that closely...

What is it that the supporters want ownership to do? Public apology? Fire some people?

effectively deal with the complaints being raised by the women

not bury it

as they appear to have done until it was recently aired

I get that. What I'm wondering is "deal with it" how?

not sure why you believe people outside the situation

can suggest meaningful solutions

i think the women need to be fully heard about their complaints

and listened to about what steps they think should take place to remedy their complaint

that is apparently what was missing

i do not propose to tell them what solutions should work for them

i think they need to be listened to comprehensively

Not sure where you're getting that from. Who are the people "outside the system" and when did I say they can "suggest meaningful solutions" ?

All I'm asking is what, specifically, the supporters are asking for. "Deal with" complaints seems pretty vague to me.

There is definitely a strong odour emanating from the Caps head office.  Girls program crap.  Boys getting raped. Coaches (suspected) of stealing?  They need to clean up their house.  Good for the South Siders to show they’re upset, and want to see change.

Maybe “deal with” complaints means to bring complaints to the proper authorities, rather than trying to hide them?
