[Signing] Hansen signs 3-year deal

Recommended Posts

It is BELOW market value. Just because 2 other teams got guys at BELOW market value it doesn't mean that the market value on the whole is that low. Researching before posting sometimes helps. So here's a bit more of the market on 3rd line checking type players who kill penalties, hit, sometimes agitate, and have the ability to contribute 25-35 pts. Of these guys, I think Max Talbot is a great comparison because he's not very big (5'11), and is similar age, and plays similar game to Hansen, and also got signed this off-season. Goc is also another good comparison.

- Chad Larose - Age 26 - $1.7 - 31 pt career high

- Sammy Pahlsson - Age 33 - $2.65 - 29 pt career high

- Marcel Goc - Age 27 - $1.7 - 30 pt career high

- Michal Handzus - Age 34 - $2.5 - 30 pt last season

- Raffi Torres - Age 30 - $1.75 - 29 pt last season

- Maxime Talbot - Age 27 - $1.8 - 26 pt career high

- Chris Neil - Age 32 - $2 - 33 pt career high

- Travis Moen - Age 29 - $1.5 - 21 pt career high

- Michael Rupp - Age 31 - $1.5 - 19 pt career high

- Vernon Fiddler - Age 31 - $1.8 - 32 pt career high

- Paul Gaustad - age 29 - $2.3 - 36 pt career high

- Eric Nystrom - Age 28 - $1.4 - 19 pt career high

Malhotra though can put up 10g 30p, is better defensively, plays a more premium position, and is the best faceoff man in the game.

Kesler was younger, had a 1st round pedigree, and had better physical tools then Hansen
