vcr1970
I would say Rick Nash had a slightly higher trade value than Luongo and look what Columbus just got for him............nothing but depth players! The first round pick is mediocre as it will be close to 30th overall given how good the Rangers are. And I would say the Canucks will get something less than this! PaulKariyaALH
Luongo's value is only slightly less than Nash's? Nash's value is much higher, and Luongo won't get much in a trade. Probably a 3rd liner + a mid pick
DeNiro
Luongo's value will be determined when he is traded. Not by someone on CDC. You don't know how much value a team out there might put in acquiring a number 1 goalie. Nash also has the same long-term contract, and has been accused of being overrated in the same way. King Heffy
Its pretty obvious that Columbus got raped. Trade was too lopsided to set any form of precedent IMO.

Drybone
I have no idea what the Nash and Luongo trades have to do with each other. They are different players with different contracts under totally different circumstances.
DeNiro
And if you're saying his value is only slightly less, you're saying you wouldn't take Dubinsky, Erixon and 1st for Luongo? Based on some of the proposals here, I would say that's more than alot of people are expecting.

logic
So, basically an 80Point winger has the same value as a top 5 goalie in the world? So Lundqvist for Semin is fair in your mind?
RunningWild
I actually think it helps Lu's trading value, it helps to establish parameters (assuming Nash has more value than Lu). CBJ got: NYRs top prospect, 2 roster players and a 1st round pick. Gillis 'allegedly' asking for: top prospect, roster player, 1st round pick. If Gillis can get Floridas top prospect (Huberdeau) and either a 1st round pick or roster player - he's doing great. I think he can.
