allstar_luongo1
They use Franky Corrado instead of Keith Ballard and burn the first year of Corrado's entry level deal. Gillis is a bum and AV is a bigger bum
Dazzle
Very dumb move. They obviously took a gamble and lost. Oh yeah, they went all-in.

goalie13
He only played 4 games. I believe he gets 9 before it burns a year of his contract.

gizmo2337
I believe the limit for the shortened season was 6 games. He played 3 regular season and 4 play-off games. Sounds like we used him for one too many games. http://www.broadstre...r-rules-lockout Edit Nope, we played him two games over the limit
timberz21
Actually, it can turn out really good. If we consider the best possible scenarios for him. Corrado has two years left on his ELC. Next season will be a learning year, and the season after will be his breakout. Unless Corrado his a real STUD for the next two years he will sign a 2nd transition contrat, like Edler signed his 3.25M deal. If Corrado would have 3 more years of ELC he would have 1 learning season, 1 breakout season, 1 "getting big bucks season" Meaning after his 3rd ELC he could have signed already a 4-5-6 years contracts at 4-5M if he becomes a stud. All depends how it pans out, yes in 2 years he will cost more, but long-term he might cost less.
cbdoubleu
So angry. I feel like there is some puncuation/grammar issues with the topic title though. Shouldn't it be like ' Rookie? Mistake.' or something like that. Neither AV nor MG are rookies, so it's vague who you are blaming for being a rookie. And that's why I'm angry. CanucksJay
Even if playoff games count, he still didn't reach 10. But if combined NHL and AHL games count, then he played exactly 10.

bossram
I agree that burning one year of his contract could be useful. If Corrado doesn't take a major step forward into becoming a top-four defenseman in the next two seasons, then his 2nd contract will likely be very cheap. Who knows, that 3rd season might be a huge breakout year and then we would have to pony up bigger dollars. It depends on how he develops.
