Get a bit more leeway to hold, hook and interfere from the refs and suddenly a very poor team can collapse all game, never let any quality chances happen, a lucky goal goes either way and then we go to a shootout. This is nothing new, just sad to see. I get what you're saying. I'm hesitant to blame the refs since it's international play. It can't always be the refs. Game dynamics have to happen and factor in. I see it more as the game has changed. It's bearing out in the NHL and now on the Olympic stage. Hard to score. But here Latvia is just playing better defense, with a hot goalie.
