Figures, Springer gets pulled after 5 innings due to fatigue.

Load management.  The last time a Toronto based sports had to do "load management", for their newly acquired superstar due to a leg injury it ended pretty well.

Kirk out for a bit, Jansen gets a hit........... at last, and yes springer's limp does worry me.

Happy to be wrong about Jansen....two solid hits.....

Not to pile on, but I have to wonder about playing the shift on a guy with two strikes and batting .050 for the season....

With an average like that, wouldn't "playing the shift" be taking a knee?

It's why I mentioned "piling on"....As great as it was to see Jansen get two hits, both of them went exactly where the 2nd baseman would normally be playing....

Some good news (finally) on the injury front....

Nate Pearson threw 78 pitches for AAA Buffalo last night, 53 of them for strikes and struck out 8 against the Red Sox affiliate from Worcester.

I didn't see any details on how high he registered on the gun, but he said he threw mainly fastballs and sliders, so all in all, a good sign.

Also gotta say.....as a baseball fan I hate the Yankees (as most should) but props to the fans at the Bronx last night for their "reception" for the "Trashtros"....(that moniker from a sign worn by one of the fans)

Angels have released Phat Albert.....

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10002187-albert-pujols-reportedly-to-be-released-by-angels-in-final-season-of-254m-contract?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial

Cue the "Jays should sign him" talk....which I'd be down with....

.....as long as LA retained about 24 million of his contract....B)
