2014 IIHF World Championship Thread (Bieksa named Captain)

Recommended Posts

Well considering Gaudreau will probably get top 6 minutes on a weak Flames roster and Schroeder will have a hard time cracking the top 9 on the Canucks, I doubt he will put up the same numbers.

Just like with Baertschi, we'll have to wait and see what he can do at the next level. Too early to tell.

Keep hyping up the next Nathan Gerbe though.

lel Gaudreau and Gerbe have nothing in common other than being small and coming from Boston College. You know nothing Jon Snuh. Gaudreau>Schroeder bruh

Germany 2nd Win , 5 Points could be enough to avoid the relegation...now quarterfinals? :towel:

like this oppenheimer guy and a solid game from grubauer ...it works without nhl players :)

Great to hear Ollie .. not getting any of their games over here .. good luck!

Kind of surprising Edler and Daniel aren't going. Europeans usually love the WHC.

If Sweden was smart they'd loan Edler to whoever they're playing that day.

Boy Bieksa sure looks good with that C on his chest... Imagine having a passionate, gritty, canadian as captain. Hopefully the new coach gives juice the captaincy.

tic..tic...tic...tic.

Anxiously awaiting the drop of the puck for their next game vs the Czechs. This one will be very telling. Scrivens will start. Praying that the rest of the team starts trending the way of Bieksa, Garry & Burr last game. Go Canada Go!

Reimer gets the start as per TSN. Not that he played bad against France, but Scrivens' play against Slovakia was better. Canada doesn't play again until Thursday against Denmark, not like Scrivens needed rest.

Hmmm. Not super happy about this decision. Unless something's going unreported about the health or well-being of Scrivens.

2-1 Canada killing a penalty .. killing and now on PP .. 4;30 sec left in second period

Bieksa lost a tooth from a stick in the mouth .. they called tripping initially, and then changed the call to a 5 minute major .. go Canada!
