the big one imho was Malholtra.  because he was out Kesler played too much and after the second round he was gassed - and got hurt the next round.  Hamhuis was trying to stand up to the tough play and while we can't say that Malholtra being out caused his injury, the trickle down effect meant tried to step up and do something he rarely does...  to try to make a difference physically.

That’s a very astute observation.  It’s much like Elias and Bo doing extra now with .beagle and Sutter out.

That Hammer injury was not him deviating from his game. Hammer always went for those hip checks. Only after that injury did he stop.

So how close is he to playing?

Heard on 650 this morning that if he stays on track, he's hopefully backing up later this week and playing on weekend/shortly after.

All depends on him staying on track though.

Ryan Johnson on Thatcher Demko:

"Demko is doing good, by no means want to put the cart before the horse but he’s been on the ice recently. Yesterday was first full practice & another good practice today. We’re excited to have him back & we'll make a decision in the next couple of days of how to proceed."

So much time lost.  Hopefully he can come back strong.

????  He has lost less than two months.    Do you see what has happened to other players in AHL/NHL - losing a year is not uncommon with goalies at times.   This is a minor setback.
