Warhippy
I ok. Either way he isn't that good at all. It was a false tweet fixed minutes later But there you go again. He is that good in fact He is a .70 ppg player under the age of 26 that played on what is probably the WORST team in the league over the last 6 years with 2nd line plugs that make our 4th line look like all stars while making less than $5 million a year. he has had 2 years where he missed some time for injuries but has never missed more than 20 games a season. Seriously....isn't that good? come on man
CanuckofSteel
Now either Edmonton destroys Leon Draisatil into becoming an average player next season or they go out and sign 1 of Statsny or Richards to a wild contract. I won't be surprised on July 1st if we hear... "The Edmonton Oilers have just signed Brad Richards to a 3 year 18 million dollar deal!"
TOMapleLaughs
Not a huge fan of either player. Gagner is heading to a friendler qualcomp division/conference so he'll be helped out. And Edm gets marginally tougher. Meh.
gmen81
Oilers should have tried to get Koekkoek or Barberio with them drafting DeAngelo and all.

These draft lottery changes cant come soon enough.
From.The.Point
Maybe a deal involving Tanev for Yakupov? Not saying straight up but could be the 2 players involved. Anyone??
Blueberries
I think that every trade Yzerman has made with TBL he's won.

I see Richards entering one of the teams that still need a 2a/2b center
theo5789
Do people not know who Teddy Purcell is? Gagner is a good player, but he is injury prone and might be a 50-60 point guy if he can stay healthy. Purcell has been putting up similar numbers and actually plays full seasons. Jiggs50
Give Draisaitl the 2C spot and acquire a winger for Gagner? Not bad.. Hall-RNH-Eberle Perron-Draisaitl-Purcell Trade Yakupov for a defenseman.. This. Oilers may finally be on to something. I'm jealous they picked up Draisaitl...
peaches5
Oilers got robbed? Purcell was one of the main reasons why TB went as deep as they did in 2011 in the playoffs he is a solid player. I think Tampa got the short end of the stick here.
EmployeeoftheMonth
This deal is much more fair than some people think. It doesn't exactly (or at all) address what Edmonton needs but it's seems like in Edmonton change is good, standings are secondary.
THERETOOL
It seems like a good deal for both teams to me . I dont feel that one team or the other got ripped off . this is what a good deal should look like .. it should address the needs of both teams involved . I do agree they really need some d in oil land though
Down by the River
Purcell is a good pickup for the Oilers, but I don't think Edmonton should have assumed at this point that Draisaitl is capable of playing in the NHL next year. What if he struggles? Keep him in the lineup, waste a year of his ELC and inhibit his development?
terrible.dee
Gagner is going to prove the problem wasn't him, he was just a convenient scapegoat. But Now they have Yak for that. Gagner is a really good 2nd line center, and now he has a chance to prove it. Would have sent to Oiler's Bonino in a second for him.
VegasCanuck
Really weird to acquire Gagner and then flip him 90 min later for a 6th!
sharnhayre
Gagner will be great for the East and for TB. He has lots of youth to play with and will be happy to leave Deadmonton for sunny Florida.
